I just read something on Wikipedia about a genre called "Musique Concrete" [Concrete music, in translation]. It's music that integrates various previously recorded sound effects.

An example of Concrete would be TWM, with the motor intro, FSG, with its "Wind + crystals" intro, Alright with the kitty cat in the intro, EOPE, with the morse code, and god knows what else.

So much from me.

black capricorn day video
i just seen a part of the film called "point breack" ("le llaman bodhi" in spanish) and i realized what i never heard nobody saying nothing (so maybe anyone realized):
the persecution to jay in the video from around min 0:30 to 1:30 is based in a persecution from this movie, in fact is a total rip of it, shot by shot, and it's great! haha

you should check it!

this also remeinds me that canned heat gots also "inspiration" from clockwork orange wich is also interesting to see.

I think Jay also said that the first song Derrick played with them was 'Mr Moon'... I believe he said that during the Montreux Festival 2003...... And now is 'Just Another Story'?

Hi,

Derrick: "I strolled in 45 minutes late. The audition was about three hours long, and I was the last person to turn up. I think it lasted that long because we all got on so well. We played Hooked Up at first, then we started playing all their hits. Then they started moving into more different things that Jay wanted to do, but couldn't because he was limited with the previous drummer. The stuff that I was doing on Just Another Story, was written right there by me and Jay at the audition."
(from DRUM! 8.4-1999)

So, maybe:
HU - 1st ever played,
JAS - 1st written,
MM - 1st played live, or recorded?

PS. Yellow Jamily :)

the credits of just another story says written by kay/smith, but i guess this is just the same as most of the other songs, where the drums are mostly "written" by derrick but it's not credited anywhere...
i believe just another story was the first one recorded from TROTSC album (appart from the kids, recorded in 93)...and maybe appart from space cowboy demo?

p.s. welcome Very Happy

If you haven't already noticed, SDISJ actually segues (makes a transition) into Electric Mistress. It's the humming noise from the acoustic guitar that segues into the next track.

Erm, it's more of an opinion rather than a fact, but if you listen to the album version of "Scam", the synth solo that begins at some 3:55 into the track sounds very Herbie Hancock-like.

Maybe some of you already know, but a year ago I discovered that
Wild Style song, played in Milan, Italy 1993 is a cover from GrandMaster Flash and The Furious Five - Super Rappin

This was after a long consulting with my friends
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk_VcnBO7xE

and as you know the rapping acapella is from Rakim - Let the rhythm hit'em

and also the Rock Me Again and Again and Again lyrics part from Rapper's Delight cover is taken from Lynn Collins - Rock Me

Jay Kay from the UK music group Jamiroquai pictured here with Wally the Wahlberg's Eagle. Music video 'Corner of the Earth' filmed in the Tokai Forest.

Samples heard on the Extended Version and the DJ D-Zire Scratch Monitor Mix of If I Like It I Do It come from Chill Rob G - Let The Words Flow:
