LISTEN UP!!! GREAT NEW SONG CALLED 'SHOOT THE MOON' !!!!!
Hey everybody. Jamiroquai played agreat new, never before heard song called 'Shoot The Moon'. The God who is David Rowe has put it up for download at his Funkin' site. Its a great song and I hope it is on the new album. This may just be me but I think it is a return to the 'Space Cowboy' sound but this is my first impression. It was first played last night at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The quality of sound is very good on this download and I think this bodes very well as a sign of things to come for the next album!!! Hope everone likes it.

Shoot the Moon hits the spot!!
Hello JamiroTalkkers, :bm_b:
Man..OoOoOoo..man that new song is TIGHT! Great new number that Jamiroquai came up with, really has made my summer so far! When I can get "Shoot the Moon" on disc, I'll transcribe the lyrics here on JamiroTalk.net, like I did before (I was the first fan to decipher the lyrics to "Cannabliss" & "A Funk Odyssey" ya know!). After listening to it a few times, I know realize that the new song is a reworked "A Funk Odyssey"...well, in my opinion. Anyhoo, big props and hard handshakes to David at the Funkin Site for capturing this brief glimpse of what Jamiroquai6 holds for the fans, so far, this will be a hell of a album!!! Thanks for listening and take care! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 |

I'm very pleased with this tune, and glad it doesn't sound like STOP DON'T PANIC (which is, by the way, very similar to SNOOZE YOU LOSE). It really does sound like a return to an older sound, and I dig it. I can tell that is in the early stages, and it doesn't sound quite ready for the studio. Some transitions are a little rough, things like that. However, it's most promising and I can't wait to hear the final product!
I'm wondering who coined the name SHOOT THE MOON? Sounds to me like the song is going to be something like WOULD YOU LIKE, just because he says it so much in the song. Just a thought.
Cheers! |

Forgive me, I didn't look at the official set list of Montreux before my last post. I see now that SHOOT THE MOON is the name given to the song by the band, and not whoever posted the song online.
I'm very encouraged to see songs like Blow Your Mind, Just Another Story, and Mr Moon on the set list as well. The most recent concerts I've heard have had virtually nothing from the first two albums. I hope they're moving in a direction of playing more of their older (and high caliber) songs.
Cheers! |

I think it is kinda logical that they didn't play many old tunes during the afo tour (or tours). they completely changed the style of the gig, with no brass, didge, or dj, and with two keyboardists and back up singers instead. I think many of they old tunes would sound really different without trumpet and saxophone, and some of them cannot be played proparly with out them (when I heard the new rock version to high times it sounded so wierd, although I dig it now. and I have no idea how blow your mind and just another story sound without brass, probably even wierded, although it doesn't mean they cannot sound good). _________________

Old Vibes...
Hello again, :bm_r:
Yeah, makes me REAL that Jamiroquai is playing some oldies, I'm very curious how the new renditions of "JAS", "BYM", "Butterfly","Use the Force" and "Mr. Moon" sound like! One thing I noticed was JK didn't have a new hat, I guess that future concoction is still at the hat shop! Ohh, by the way, I'm in the process of transcribing the lyrics to the new Jamiroquai song "Shoot The Moon", so keep a eye out for the lyrics in the next few days posted here on Jamirotalk.net, just doing my Jamiroquai civic duty ! Thanks for listening and take care all! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
