And why everybody only talk about Stu when they talk about "old" Jamiroquai? There were other many musicians in this band, exellent musicians, like Wallice, Simon, Rinaldo, and more... the backing singers have been changes too (And if you hear Glastonbury 93 concert, you will see there were backing singers)

THANK YOU !!!
Seriously people talk like Stuart was the one playing all the instruments on scene, or producing all the tracks. He was one of the factor responsible for the excellent songs on the first albums, not the main reason :/
Like Stu said himself, he was able to play like he played because Jay let him experimentate with his bassplaying. So stop saying things like "Jamiroquai will never sound as good as before without Stuart etc..."
And for the sucky concert, I don't see why it's so surprising. You can't be at the top everytime, they're still humans.
And every concert fromt the 92-95 era were far from perfect. The one at munich in 1993 was really boring imo :/ They were in their prime in 95-98
for me. And they're again touching this level right now |

what i DO NOT believe, is that a concert from 1992-1998 was crap
after that... hahah xD |
I think you are a bit obssessed with Stu. |
yes i am...
but i never said Nick and Paul suck! no way, i think they're both amazing bass players and I support them! and also more Paul Turner cos i had the chance to look him playing here in Venezuela! the guy knows what he's doing!
but Zender is Zender... you know that! they were not the same after he left!
And the same happen with the whole band... there are some great things on it, and some others that: you know... i don't agree that much... but well... VIVA Jamiroquai! _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

maybe the audience was not ready for the sound |
Probably the best explanation.
If people didn't like the gig, it doesn't necessarily mean that it was bad. Maybe they didn't understand anything about their music (as most people don't). They may have come to the show expecting to hear more accessible songs, like the mentioned Space Cowboy, and got Light Years and Journey To Arnhemland instead.
Maybe this was one of the reasons Jay decided to switch to more commercial sound on TWM. Remember what he said in one interview? "To cross over, you can't just hit people with crazy bits of jazz, you gotta reel them in a little bit to survive. That's what we did on this album; simplify." |
