Different Booklets for TRoTSC
Hi!
I'm all new on this forum, but having recently purchased not one but two copies of The Return of The Space Cowboy album, I noticed some differences with the to booklets and also a slight difference in coloring.
Everything else is exactly the same.
Here's what I've noticed:
One copy of the booklet is printed on very thin paper - actually the kind you usually find on booklets for cd's. The other copy is printed on a more card-like paper. Both booklets have the distinct fold-out structure.
The "thin" version of the booklet is a slightly more greyish color, whereas the "card-like" version is a bit more brownish - with a slight sepia tone to it.
As I mentioned, all other aspects of the cd's are precisely the same.
Anyone noticed the same with this album or other albums?
Thanks!

Hello, Danish Red. I have noticed it too, and I have both versions like you.
The "common one", in the booklet has Jay kay's pics mixed with the lyrics, and the "card-like paper" has photos of all the members in the band, isn`t it?
And instead of the picture with closed caption af the band you can find photos of jay in different 'jumping' positions? _________________

Hello there, mojogonlopoto!
Both my booklets have pictures of jumpin' Jay mixed in with the lyrics, and on the back of the lyrics there is this massive picture of all band members.
Interesting, that you seem to have yet another different version of this booklet. (c:
Thanks for sharing!
What else is out there on the booklet for this great album?
Greetings |

I´ve made some pictures of different releases. Catalogue number, cd's and back cover exactly the same. In pctures, the cd upper is the common release you can find nowadays.

appart of the brownish/greyish cover versions and different set of photos in the booklet there are also some version with little jumping jays in the left part of the cd case (the part of the background you can see both with the cd closed and opened)
also the background photo behind the disc itself seem to differ in at least 3 different jay's photos _________________

That would be the US version:

Iñaki,
I think the Argentinian version, is the US version.
There wasn't a release in Argentina, they imported it from US.
But people from Argentina, give your opinion, please. _________________

The first edition I got was imported from Brazil, it was the only version available.
Recently, they re-issued the album with the US design, but it was made here in Argentina.
At least, that's what I think. |

I remember reading about Jay being pissed off about them reordering his tracklist for the American version... I would be too. _________________

btw, in my case, the background of the inner part of the cd is printed to the left of the center where it should be, so the part of "the little jumping jays" on the left of the cd do not fit entirely with the tranparent part of the cd case so half of jays little bodies are bended up. i don't know if it's an error in all the argentinean versions or just mine. _________________

True.
I've got the US version and the Promo US version, and both are the in the same printing. Both come with half Jay jumping!
Merry Christmas to all! _________________

perhaps I'm not following here,
but it surprises me that Jay (and band) don't have the last say of what is put out there. (pissed about the US tracklist)
also, I can't keep up with the many versions of each album and booklets. |
