"It's Your World" is a song played by Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson, written by Brian Jackson. It's from the album by the same name from 1976. JK has listened to Gil and Brian, as he quotes the title of one of their most known tracks, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" from the album "Pieces of a Man" from 1970. In some live versions of "The Kids", JK sings "Yes it will, Gil" right after the quote. I urge you all to check out Gil and Brian's work, as it is very good. They mix funk, soul, jazz, poetry etc. and both music and lyrics are good.

The "Rock me" quote is from an old funk song. The band is James Brown's band, and he's even singing a bit in it himself, but a woman handles the lead vocals. I know he had several woman touring and recording with him, but I don't know their names. It's from the 70's.

Yeah, If you look at "The Kids" lyrics on the ROTSC album sleeve, it says "yes it will Gil" just after "the revolution will be telivised". But he doesnt actually say it on the CD... if that makes any sence.

Anyway, Gil-Scott Heron is a cool artist who made some great tracks in the 70's

Ah, Jamirokaki . . .

T H A N K Y O U

. . . for salvaging the TS thread. It was a wise thing to do, and to repost it here is even smarter.

I made a request to Mr. WebmasteRowe to save and perpetuate it on the new official site. I hope he does, but now we have the safety net in place.

And look how many people never knew about this most classic and most important thread from JTALK !?!?!?!

I will remind the others that you are Jamily's InterGalactic Council of Minister's Secretary for Information. And that is going to remain an unchallenged title for as long as I can see.

kubrick and jay

jay's favorite movie is 2001 a space odyssey, and he put the name of 5th album because of this, but i noticed another kubrick wink on jamiroquai stuff, yesterday i was watching (again) a clockwork orange, and theres an scene with Alex, dancing in a table, throwing everything on it, then jumping from it to the floor with a half turn and then trowing the table itself away and some other stuff on the room, you should see this and the quite same scene at the end of canned heat video Wink

king for a day video
last time i saw the vid from king for a day from tv, and the ones i have recorded on vhs i saw the vid and remember some images that were no longer there, today i confirmed that those images really exist and that there are 2 version of this video, both are quite similar but first version contains images from people doing sex around the table, the version seen later don't contains this images no more, there are another slight differences in some shots too, i will investigate more when i have time.
so theres the list of videos with different versions as far as i know:
when you gonna learn
when you gonna learn (edited) (most animal violence and human violence erased)
space cowboy
space cowboy (censored) i never seen this but marihuana is replaced by margarites (must be funny)
space cowboy (remix) inverted images and classic radio mix on the audio
half the man
half the man (lovers) jay's image mixed with lovers kissing
stillness in time
stillness in time (verison 2) different shots from jay and the band
cosmic girl
cosmic girl (j's cut) different shots and more spectacular images plus some extras at the end as jay's lambo at high speed
cosmic girl (version 3) i saw this once on tv, it includes the image of the speeding lambo but the music is still on, so may be the uncuted version of version 1
deeper underground
deeper underground (no godzilla)
deeper underground (version 2) i still have to confirm this but i tihnk there are slight differences on the intro with new takes
king for a day
king for a day (censored)
little l
little l (version 2) new shots
you give me something
you give me something (censored) punch part edited
love foolosophy
love foolosophy (alternative version)

i think that's all
