Hello there Jamily @Jamirotalk.net!
Some may or may not remember me, I haven't been around in a few years now. Been a bit busy with work and studies and I couldn't quite keep up with my online life. I thought it'd be a good idea to stop by and say hello!
So... HELLO!
By this point I have finally netted a Jamiroquai gig and was able to attend with the local Jamily. Snapped a few shots so I might as well post them sometime.
Got to make a new av/sig, got bored of these already... |
Hi there German! Good to see you around here again |

Glad to see some remember me! Though there seems to be very little activity around here. Did Facebook kill this forum too?

Hi there!
I'm (sort of) new here. I've lurked for some years now and I've actually gave my thoughts on a few things on Funkin towards the latest album and some things before that. I was actually invited to join here a few years back, I was under the name of Catalyste. I had a couple of other names relating to cookies and such, but I kept them brief. I didn't accept the first time around since I was shy and I'm argumentative. So I thought it wouldn't be good for me and to do it later.
Well here I am! lol
Umm, about me....
I'm actually a pretty private person, but if you meet me in person I'm a really friendly person and fun to be around. I consider myself a good friend towards others.
I recently got done publishing a book for the first time. It was a labor of love and I can't tell you how relieved I am for my back to stop aching and for me to catch up on some sleep again! Of course I didn't do this myself, it was a team effort from my family. We currently have 3 more books being worked on....not at the same time though.
I used to be a Medical Assistant, then I was doing some tech support as well as some (lite) programming and web designing for the position. I did some agricultural work as well.
I'm all over the place, I know.
I have a very spiritual background...and it seems there are a lot of people scared of this due to misunderstandings. So it's not easy to talk about without getting "that look."
I live in Arizona, USA. I've been here since 2005. I'm originally from Buffalo, New York....and miss the food there terribly! I miss actual weather and the lakes. I miss the Niagara River as well as Niagara Falls and the Friendship Festival (a festival that starts on Canada Day (July 1st) and ends on July 4th). My ancestry is very mixed, but more and more I'm told I look like my Native American ancestors. There's Cherokee, Black Foot, and Mohawk. I don't go around saying I'm Iroquois...though it's the truth due to the Mohawk in my blood.
So how am I a fan?
I have no clue. lol
Don't ask me what makes a fan, because I'm too stiff when it comes to the meaning. So I'm learning how to loosen up and be more versatile with it. lol However, and I have to say, I never thought Jay sounded like Stevie Wonder. Ever. It's because I live in America, where A LOT of people look up to Stevie. As I was growing up, I heard a lot of people come out and sound just like him. So when I heard Jamiroquai for the first time, Stevie Wonder wasn't part of that impression.
I consider Space Cowboy to be my favorite song as well as my favorite video. It's a heavily chilled out song...though when I first saw the video, I swore he was talking about Captain Kirk. My mom had to explain to me that he was talking about weed. Hahaha, and that's when she "educated" my brother and I about all the stuff she did.
So thanks, mom, for dropping that acid! lol
Oh, and by the way I'm 32. I'll be 33.....two days after that Stoke Park performance.....so weird how just about every year they have a performance so close to my birthday! Maybe this time I can go! So I'm hoping! lol I'll cross my fingers to this.

Hello !
(Excuse my spelling, i'm french !)
My name is Alexandre, i'm 15 and i said it, i live in France. I discover Jamiroquai in 2012 (very late i know) by curiousity. It start when i listened to "To Young To Die". After that, i listened "Canned Heat", "Alright", "Deeper Underground" and i thought i knew already that songs but i don't knew it was Jamiroquai. And, i became a fan.
I loved to see a new album of Jamiroquai and see them in France.
In life, i'm a drummer/guitarist and i like football too.
It's a pleasure to come here, thanks !

Welcome Eltouffodrum!
haha! I just read Curry's post here!
I just laughed out loud at the Captain Kirk thing! and the mom schooling!
I agree, never really thought Jay sounds like Stevie, just that Jam's music is funky/groovy and somewhat similar.
I never said much about me, as I'm somewhat private too.
I'm a very open-minded person, some think I'm liberal.
(but not Marx liberal)
I'm Educated in Sociology.
I believe in the harmony of things regardless of specific religions.
I listen to music with my eyes closed. Good music stands on its own.
Big Jamiroquai fan here. Soul, Funk & Electronic are my fav genres.
Everything is perspective, and everything is relative.
I live near Detroit. Hoping to make it to the Stoke Pk. concert.
My name is Gina, so I couldn't pass up the name Honeybee! |

Hello here,
I am soo glad to be finally joining the Jamiroquai community - I've carried his music through the crunch days at the college (I've majored in Business and Sociology) and still believe that it was the first two albums of Jay Kay and the Band to whom I have to be grateful for the successful completion of the studies. These days I am travelling quite a bit, and for the reason of willng to catch up with his latest releases, I am here, noticing the opportunity to learn even more about the currect dates as well as the supportive community. Is it me only that feels younger when listening to Space Cowboy or the Cosmic Girl?
All for now |
