Cool, ezzi! We will meet then hopefully!
People from Rotterdam, could one of you give me a tipp where I should look for a hotel? I am just looking on hotel-booking-sites, but I am a bit lost.
I am coming by train, so a hotel near the station would be clever... or are there also hotels near the Ahoy?
Or is it better to take a hotel somewhere on the way from station to Ahoy?
Any help is appreciated!

pfew ...never checked out Hotels before in Rotterdam.
near the trainstation is the Westin (I think). You've got the Nh Atlanta at about 5-10 minutes from the station, same counts for the Park Hotel.
I have no idea of hotels in the vicinity of the Ahoy' but I'll have a look around the next time I'm on the road.
Maybe this helps in searching a hotel: http://www.hotelservicerotterdam.nl/ or http://www.vvv.rotterdam.nl/uk/
There's a youth hostel (Stayokay) near the Metro station Dijkzicht and from there it's pretty easy to go to the Ahoy'

this might help with the map thingie http://www.bookings.nl/searchresults.nl.html?iata=RTM
the Ahoy' is located in the south of Rotterdam. In the Map of that last URL you can find it in the lower right quadrant above the point (and a little to the left) where the roads (in yellow) A15 and A29 connect. After zooming in you can recognize it by a icon of a picnictable (I wonder why) and at mouse over it says Ahoy'.
If I happen to find something better/easier than I'll post it here in this topic and if there are any particular questions then don't hesitate to mail or PM me.
I hope it helps a bit
René
ps. needless to say that I definitely will be attending the NSJ festival

If you want to we can meet somewere before the concert and than we can go together. I will be coming by train too, from Maastricht (actually I will be visiting my friends and family in Belgium by that time) We can meet at the Railway station or so. I have some friends living in Rotterdam, I will ask them for a hotel as well. I'll let you know ! _________________ www.thisispeggy.com

I was just looking on the site of the festival.
And they have confirmed Jamiroquai.
According to funkin it should be friday?
On that site you can also find a blueprint of the festival.
They even have some tents outside and several stages in more than 1 hall.
Looking forward to go to rotterdam and london! |

We still have a lot of time, but we should consider to swap mobile phone numbers in July, so that we can text us where we are, when we arrive and where we can meet to warm up for the gig!

That is a good idea. I won't be on the net a lot in July so I will give my number before. _________________ www.thisispeggy.com

I just talked with somebody from rotterdam
There is a nice city campsite where you can also rent a hut
(made from wood, they look real nice)
http://www.stadscamping-rotterdam.nl/index.htm
He told me it is about 0.5 hours to ahoy with public transport
and 15 min to city centre
And he gave me the adress of this hotel
http://www.hospitality.nl/zeemanshuis/frames/ned/index2_ned.php
Meike maybe this helps a bit?
He also told me that there will be lot's of jazz in the city!
I am even thinking of renting a hut myself! |

They are the opening act...and will play 1.5 hours
Got mixed feelings...great i don't have to wait so long
Shit, they have a slot so they cannot play much longer.
Ahw well...15 hours is not bad!!!! |

Yes!! I have just seen the programm!
Friday, 14 July 2006 - 18:30 - 20:00 h >> Jamiroquai
Let's pray that they will come on stage in time!! We wanna have the full 1,5 hours!!!
Another nice surprise for me is to see that Al Jarreau will perform the same night on the same stage! That's really nice!
