Banner problem (Sorry if this has been posted before)
Simple: Whenever I click the 'Forum index' bubble, the forum marks all posts as read. Am I the only one encountering the problem? More importantly: Is there a solution to it ('Cause it bugs the hell outta me)? |

@Knjaz: Hm ... - I was not able to reproduce the problem here, but I can imagine, that this could happen, when you keep your browser a while (one hour) without action (e.g. drinking coffee or having lunch). In this case your so called "session" has expired and a new session is started.
Since the orange marks indicate "all new posts since last visit" and your "last visit" wasn't so long ago, all threads are marked as read.
But - from your words "Whenever I click the 'Forum index' bubble" I can see, that this is not what happens in your case. Thus, please tell me some details about your browser and operating system. Name, version - and please your version of the Flash-PlugIn (click with the right mouse button on the bubble-menu to get info about plugin).
@jamilichid: Please send me your info, too. Thanks.

Try selecting the link "JAMIROTALK.NET Forum Index" below the bubbles. I always use this and it never does what you have described |

Operating system: Windows XP home edition (Service Pack 2)
Browser: Mozilla firefox v. 1.5.0.6. (This happened on some earlier versions, too, like 1.5.0.5. or just 1.5)
Adobe Flash plugin: v. 9.0 (I think it's the most up-to-date version)

Tried it. However, I'm not very used to it, since I go to many forums, and on all of them, the banner linking to the main page is on the top-left. So it takes me a while to click.
EDIT: Oooh - ICK! *smashes the PC* Grrr... The same happens with the link mr_moon described above... I'm so stuck with this problem. So SO stuck. |

I got Mozilla firefox v. 1.5.0.6. with the latest Flash plugin and I am still not able to get the same problem as you described.
How does the problem show up? - when you click on the "Forum Index"-button you are forwarded to the forum homepage, but all "new"-indicators are white? Are you still logged in then or do you have to log in again? If second is the case, I guess that there is a problem with writing cookies on your computer. Is jamirotalk.net the only website you encounter this problem or could it be a general problem on your computer?

The first one is the case. And, by the way, I've switched to Opera 9.01 (Recently), and the problem's still there. I guess I'll have to live with it, then. |
