the sony hype machine rolls on.
i know some wont like this but..

seriously guys. have you ever heard the term any publicity is good publicity?

This is a pure attempt to "innocently" attract hype to the release 2 months out.

Do you really thing the boys from jamiroquai care? They are outta here after this one last obligation. Hopefully to make the music they want to.

Things like this DO NOT get released by accident.

I am sure everyone here will be purchasing the track when it surfaces anyway.

By the fact that you are reading this, you are a fan, larger than the norm and the odds are you have purchased most of if not all their albums.

I’m sure the boys are tickled pink at the response, but don’t go playing the poor artist line. This was quiet deliberate.

oh yeah, piracy is bad ok!

I get what CosmicMouse wants to say but I don't feel anything for this idea to wait. If i can download the track illegally I will download it just because I can't wait. I know I will buy the album so I'll make it right with the guys!

Well... all I can say is that I sent a message to Derrick, Rob and Matt over Myspace when I first heard it, saying 'it's fucking amazing, can't wait to hear the original, etc. etc. etc.'. I've not heard back from Derrick or Rob, but Matt sent me a message back within a few minutes saying:

Matt Johnson wrote:
Thanks, but he had no right to put it up

Or words to that effect ('put it up' might be a paraphrase). So it's clear they DO care, even if they know that us lot hearing it isn't going to damage their sales in any way at all. It's not only down to the money they feel they might lose from it - it's also a simple point of principle.

Agree, they DO care, otherwise I wouldn't have written it in my last posting... read between the lines! Wink

Very well put, Meike.

But I must say, this is in fact a good thing for them, cause the track IS SO GOOD. We are even more excited than we were a week before, so it's positive thing, for us and for them. The little accident could've been a lot worse if the clip was horrible. They're annoyed, yes of course they are and they do care, but this was a positive accident in my opinion. Let's pray for the life of Mr. Nelson!

D!

Right from the beginning I suspected that the spreading of this clip would have consequences Confused .....but I understand that in all the excitement you want to share it with other people who you know would appreciate it. So what can I say other than....very well said Meike! Smile

well, the only thing we can do now, is forget we got that sample, and wait for the release of it. I haven't heard the song again since all this problem started!!

that's the best way to support it!

buffaloman_R Hello yet again, buffaloman_R

Smile Been following this topic all weekend, inbetween my places of work, I think personally that Grant Nelson HAD NOTHING to do with this "Runaway" clip leak on MySpace Smile. I think it was one of his associates put this up without realizing repercussions, probably a honest mistake, so I don't consider Grant at fault with this. This kind of thing has happened alot with other music artists on MySpace too many times to count. But, granted, it was a foolish thing to do, but at least this is a indication that the current trend of GREAT Jami remixes, mostly from the 'Summer Anthems', continues to progress unabated. Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
