It makes me think of this greenish video where he's dancing (REALLY high) on Little L wounded buffalo remix (that I will not post here by respect, as it seems to be a private video tape uploaded on youtube) but I think that we've all seen it.

Lol! I haven't seen all the videos, but did see this one! Wink

The more I listen to this song, the more I like it! There's so much going on here that it's hard to be bored. I love the blend of different styles. As soon as you're completely dominated by one type of sound, another one (completely different) begins. Definitely a stand out track.

By the way, during the reggae part, I think Jay sounds a bit like young Sting in those early The Police records, especially ''Regatta De Blanc'' (White man's reggae).

Exactly what I thought. Wink (I said "The Police" somewhere...)

But I hate to keep saying "This song sounds like this band". But I can't help it. I hear so many styles on this album, and some remind me so much of other artists, songs, or other bands.

But eventually all songs will become their own.

Hey, HoneyBee,
I'm glad that I'm not the only who thinks that! Very Happy

Mind you, I meant it as a compliment, because I really like The Police, especially those early records. They were in a league of their own.

That said, I agree with you. In time all RDLS songs will become their own.

This song is stunning! No wonder why Jay said it's his favourite from this album.

'Hey Floyd, don't get your mind in a mess again!' Cool

Gina and Cesar: I had the same feeling about Sting/Regatta de blanc but on Goodbye to my dancer when he sings: "Got-your-letter just; YESTERDAY" Very Happy

Love the percussive intro and the shifting musical arrangements. There's a lot of styles and instruments to get your teeth into. Nice to hear artists go against the grain and try something non-formulaic. I especially like the transition to reggae. I concur with the references to The Police. It was the first thing I thought when I heard that part. Quite an unorthodox track, and it works, really well.

I’m going to take my time with listening to this album. After such a long wait I’m not going to wolf it down in one go with prejudice like I think some people have. (Although I admit I couldn’t and still can’t stand RDLS from the moment I heard it, ugh 2yuck.) Thumbs up from me for Hey Floyd. good
