Never Gonna Be Another
for personal reasons, this song is really growing on me
is like the other side of ''hurtin'', the more ballad way, than the rough sound of hurtin.
what are your thoughs on this song???
to me, is a ballad very easy to relay
also, again, i feel related to the lyrics
i was nearly to cry when i listen at first time _________________ Only a fool can walk away from me this time

I think its their best ballad since "Everyday" & "Butterfly". Great track. _________________ "Sitting in my living room HIGH...listening to Jamiroquai" - Curren$y "Air Assault" |

I think the song is about MJ death:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Flick throught those dog eared magazines" "We know that you have been released"
Leave me alone ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dBE_IRySKM
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"When you were on the scene" "You stepped into the light"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I watched your soul when you was young"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ux3joe0GdTA
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Those dusty photograph how we laughed"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Now that you're gone, I think of you. Never gonna be another like you"
After his death Jay said:
"He will always be remembered for that level of brilliance which will doubtless never be replicated again. It's very sad news."

It occurred to me, too. But the lyrics about "dusty photograph" and "how we laughed" made me think it's about personal relationship after all. |

It's a very nice song, I like how Matt plays piano here (and in the whole album too )
We can obviously see it as a personal relationship :
"Dust off that dusty photograph and think of how we laughed"
BUT The Seb's interpretation about MJ Death is rather pertinent because:
"the people in the street are saying there's never gonna be another"
"I watched your soul when it was young/You'd finished when you's just begun"
"We know that you have been released/They never cried for you that day"
"There's never gonna be another when you were on the scene"
It makes sense! It's about Michael Jackson (how to understand these words otherwise?) Nice find Seb! _________________ "People find it's hard to be strong, cos' they don't know where they're coming from" |

I really like it, I think this is a romantic song
romantic song singed by JK _________________ I have always 8 years old when he's less than two meters from me / 1992: birth of a genius |

Like many other Jamiroquai' songs it could be ambiguous and could have 2 meanings; or even more: being about MJ death, ex-lover, Jason himself after he came back on earth "people are saying to ME theres never gonna be another like YOU"
Dusty photograph?
But "people in the streets", it's us, it's everybody, we all miss MJ, even if we all laughed at least once about what he became/pictures.
Also I don't think people in the streets are telling to Jason "You will not find another woman like her, dude". The words he had when he passed away are really similar to the lyrics.
Moreover it suits to one of the main topic of the album, "the game" aka the music industry
The scary thing about this song is that it will surely be Jason' "Gone too soon" track. _________________ Smile ~ |

No actually in the "Face Culture" interview he mentions, Janis Jplin, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and he says clearly that the song was written about a "friend" of his...but that it can be meant for anyone who lost someone...poignant! |
