20 years of our favourite band
Note: I am not entirely sure of where to post this, as it is about the band but not strictly regarding them. Mods please move it to an appropriate area if you feel it should be somewhere else 
Hello, jamirofriends. As you may know, this year our favourite band's very first single turns 20 years old, and sometime next year their very first album will too. I am here because I'd like to celebrate it in a special way, with a special birthday gift to them.
   
The idea is to get together a group of jamirofans, that are able to play an instrument, to record a cover of a handful of our favourite tracks which would be then sent to the band as a token of our appreciation of their work.
You might be wondering how would this be done at all without the budget to fly a bunch of people from all over the world into a recording studio and back plus studio fees. It's actually pretty simple: Each participant would individually record their own track and send it to me for mixing. I would then burn it to a CD (or several) and physically mail them to Jay and the band.
I am just outlining the idea for now, and if there is any interest in the project, I'll go deeper into the details of the plan (so as not to bore people with a long post now if there is no interest). I have done this in the past and despite some technical shortcomings, I believe it turned out great and it was loads of fun for everyone involved.
