PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metacafe, the official video site of the Gumball 3000 rally, today announced the launch of its exclusive Gumball 3000 channel. The new channel serves up a stream of fresh video clips of the outrageous antics of an eclectic cast of celebrities, billionaires, rock icons, and film and fashion stars as they drive and party for 3,000 miles in 7 days. Now every Gumball 3000 fan has a one-stop shop for official Gumball 3000 video content and the best video clips caught on camera by Gumballers, attendees, and fans.
Metacafe is also launching the Gumball 3000 Video Contest to encourage every fan to participate in the rally from their laptop or desktop. Any video creator can submit a video inspired by the Gumball 3000 to Metacafe, where the first 50 clips submitted each day will win Gumball 3000 sweatbands. The top three videos submitted by May 22 will win co-branded merchandise from Gumball 3000 and adidas, the exclusive advertiser on the Gumball 3000 channel. These video creators will also take home coveted tickets to next year’s Gumball 3000 launch party. Every video is eligible for cash payment through Metacafe’s Producer Rewards program.
“The Gumball 3000 brings together some of the world’s most outrageous characters, and now anyone anywhere can watch and participate in the Gumball 3000 experience,” said Metacafe CEO Erick Hachenburg. “Together, Gumball 3000 and Metacafe are delivering the excitement of the rally to a huge global audience of more than 24 million monthly visitors.”

This year's rally goes from London to Asia and back, and drivers set to participate include actors Hayden Christensen and Jason Statham, rapper Xzibit, and musicians Jay Kay and Huey Morgan.
The Gumball 3000 is the only rally to test driver endurance with a series of exclusive parties that are as much a part of the experience as the rally itself. Past participants include Oscar™ winner Adrien Brody, director Quentin Tarantino, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, and extreme sports legend Tony Hawk.

Here's another article...
We’re off to Gumball 3000
Rickie readies himself for the big race with a ton of celebrities…
The Gumball 3000 rally kicks off this Sunday and our intrepid reporter Rickie is going all the way Asia and back.
Rickie, producer James and our mate from MTV Pakistan Wiqar have got a pimped up supercharged Range Rover (thanks to Saxtons 4x4) to race in. It's also got a PS3 in the back (thanks to EA Games) so they won't get bored.
We’ll be following the teams’ progress back in Blighty as they visit Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Athens, Berlin and the rest of Europe! Rickie told us what he’s looking forward to:
“I’m excited about the long hours driving to parties,” he said. “It will be cool to meet Xzibit, Jay Kay (from Jamiriquai) and play pranks on Danny Dyer.”
“It’ll be great to visit Athens too and we’re having a black tie dinner with the President of Albania. But of course I’ll miss Shantha!”
Follow the team’s progress from now till the finishing line right here.

London to Asia…and back in 7 Days!
Starts this Sunday 4PM Pall Mall… Lets have it!!!!
3000 miles, 120 cars, 17 Countries, 7 days, 2 Continents, 1 amazing adventure!
Here we go… we’re just hours away from the start of the 9th Annual Gumball 3000 Rally. The event kicks off with the pre rally party tomorrow night (Sat 28th) at the Gumball Space Station (inside the Trocadero) with the Fun Lovin Criminals DJing and ‘Towers of London’ playing live!!!! Then on Sunday (29th) all 120 amazing cars go on display at 1 PM on Pall Mall - and then at 4PM England and Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole will wave the start flag!
Check out Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay, Star Wars’ Hayden Christensen, Supermodel Caprice, The Business’ stars Danny Dyer & Tamer Hassan (these guys are hosting this years Gumball TV series), MTV Pimp My Ride host and rap star Xzibit, Gumball host Maximillion Cooper, and loads more…driving Bugatti Veyrons, Ferrari Enzo’s, Rolls Royce Phantom’s and more Lamborghini’s that you’d care to mention! Come down to cheer off the amazing and eccentric cars!!!
Follow the rally live throughout the week on www.gumball3000.com as the cars head off on a 3000 mile adventure across 17 countries from London to Asia and back in just 7 days, partying each night with some of the world’s coolest DJ’s and celebs. Then head down to Great George Street opposite Big Ben next Saturday 5th May between 5-8PM - to see who crosses the finish line first!!!
“Imagine the scene; Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay leading the pack of supercars in his Porsche GT3 with supermodel Jodie Kidd in hot pursuit, whilst Star Wars Darth Vader Hayden Christensen vies for position just behind, as Danny Dyer chills out in his Range Rover, and MTV’s Pimped My Ride host Xzibit cruises in his pimped out Lamborghini and you start to get the picture. Gumball is no ordinary event!” Maximillion Cooper (Gumball host)
Editor notes:
The first Gumball 3000 took place in April 1999, when British creator Maximillion Cooper invited 50 of his friends to take part in a 3000 mile party around Europe to bring together the music, film, fashion and sport industries. Nine years later, Gumball 3000 has become a lifestyle brand and consistently hits the headlines as ‘Cool Britannia’s’ most unique addition to pop culture, described by Vanity Fair Magazine as “the most rock ‘n’ roll car rally ever staged” and famed for its exploits and celebrity participation. The event annually attracts stars including Oscar-winning star of the Pianist Adrien Brody, Jackass’ Johnny Knoxville, Hugh Hefner, supermodels Jodie Kidd and Caprice, Kill Bills Daryl Hannah, action sports legend Tony Hawk, and rock stars including Snoop Dogg, Blink 182’s Travis Barker, The Fun Lovin’ Criminals, The Happy Mondays, The Darkness, Placebo, Jamiroquai and even Ms Minogue.
On Sunday 29th April Pall Mall will be the place to be with cars going on display from 1PM (expect “Pure hell fanfare”, Bam Margera) then at 4PM footballer Ashley Cole will wave the flag for 120 of the most amazing cars (including an A1 Grand Prix car), rockstars, supermodels, billionaires and eccentrics to set off for the ride of their lives; heading first to a checkpoint in Amsterdam during the Queens Day Birthday celebrations (where crowds are expected of over 1 million). Then from Amsterdam the endurance continues thru’ the night to reach Frankfurt Hahn airport where all 120 cars will be airlifted by Gumballs own Antonov cargo planes to Asia.
As if things aren’t dramatic enough, Oscar nominated director Mike Figgis (director of Leaving Las Vegas) is also making his next feature film during the week based on the rally…. This should be interesting! And then to add even more colour, The Business’ stars Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan are playing the Dastardly and Mutley role and hosting this year’s 6 part Gumball TV series….!
“Visualise all 120 supercars including several Bugatti Veyrons, Ferrari Enzo’s, Lamborghini’s, customised Rolls Royce’s, The A-Team van, and even a Turkish Taxi driving off the Gumball Antonov cargo planes in Asia, now that doesn’t happen everyday!”
Upon touching down in the Asian side of Turkey, Gumballers then make their way 3000 miles back to London, navigating the route with their CoPilot GPS and partying all the way! First stop is on Bagdat Street in Istanbul marking the end of stage one in front of an estimated crowd of 3 million people. With a party that evening in the cities hot spot ‘Reina’ nightclub on the shores of the famous Bosporus River, the following morning the adventure heads for Thessaloniki, and by evening reaches Athens in time for an extravagant rooftop party at the Hilton Hotel over looking the amazing Acropolis. From Greece the rally heads north, and is ‘escorted’ by the UN into Albania where the participants will be hosted for dinner in Tirana at the Presidential Palace hosted by the Prime Minister, in association with the United Nations to promote ‘peace and friendship’ in the region. From Albania cars head north to the stunning walled city of Dubrovnik and onwards through Croatia to Slovakia, where an amazing party will take place in Bratislava’s famous UFO watch tower. Next day, the endurance continues on through the Czech Republic to Berlin - where east meets west as another glamorous ‘Bond style’ party will rock thru’ the night, as Gumball fever takes over Europe!
“Last year over 2 million people lined the streets!” Tony Hawk
The final stage brings Gumballers back to London to cross the ‘3000 mile’ finish line on Great George Street infront of the famous Big Ben on Saturday 5th May between 5-8PM. The finish party and ‘awards ceremony’ that evening is certain to rock with Supermodel Jasmine Guinness & Poppy spinning the decks, as everyone finds out “just who has won the coveted ‘Spirit of the Gumball Trophy!”
Go to www.gumball3000.com for exclusive news, features, competitions, apparel, mobile downloads, and to watch the trailer of Gumball’s latest road trip film ‘3000 Miles’ - directed by Maximillion Cooper following the adventures and ‘jackass’ antics of Bam Margera (Viva La Bam), Ryan Dunn, skateboard legend Tony Hawk, Mike Vallely and ‘Rooftop’ Escamilla on the last rally from London to Los Angeles. ‘3000 Miles’ DVD is available NOW…you have been warned!
“If Batman took a vacation, he’d do the Gumball!”

Hi everyone, here's another article...
Gumball 2007 Start party
Tonight the Gumball 3000 kicked off with the start party in Trocadero! The party was at the top two floors of this huge building in central London. Among the party people were Caprice, Xzibit and Jay Kay. In front of Trocadero was a display of Max’ Jaguar XJ 220, a Pagani Zonda and a Spyker C8 Lavoilette. Inside there was a Jaguar E-type and the Irish A1 GP car with Jason Plato’s name on it, we also saw Jason briefly before heading down to the crowded VIP area. Throughout the venue were big screens showing the 3000 Miles Gumball movie of 2006. Now the long wait till the start of the 2007 Gumball rally is almost over!
Photos of the cars are at http://www.gtspirit.com/2007/04/29/gumball-2007-start-party/
