News - New album update from Matt Johnson
Hello talkers,
A couple of days ago, in this topic, Peggy wrote:

Yeah; it was really great ! Matt was in a good mood and he was very nice to us. He laughed when he saw my t-shirt ! (he was probably thinking something like 'oh boy, another crazy one !!!) He said there are offers from different labels but nothing is decided yet as they want to make a new album first and than see what they will do. The new album will be fresh... I asked how, but the only word he kept on saying was 'fresh'. And maybe even by the end of this year, but nothing is sure. They have loads of ideas, and are taking it easy. When i asked him about touring next year he didn't answer, it was more like 'hmm, maybe, don't know'.
Rob is enjoying family life. And they did some gigs as you have read before, i asked him about the one with Nicole Russo and he told me that it went very good and sounded great.
That's it more or less, can't remember everything exactly (too much wine !!!) but we know something now ! |
So there you go. The topic was 'hidden' in the music & musicians section, so I thought it was appropiate to create a new topic here for users who haven't read it
Thumbs up to Peggy and Matt

Well, we use the word 'fresh' here in Philly and it doesn't mean that.
Fresh is short for 'refreshing'...perhaps, something different from the style they have been doing or different type songs and arrangements.
Matt could have meant 'refreshing' to him - as in playing something new as opposed to the same stuff they have been playing.
Fresh is a positive word in my world anyway...how we use it here.
Think of it in this context..
breathe of 'fresh' air
'fresh' drink of water
Fresh could also be meant to provide relief of sorts.
Of course we haven't heard the new album, so we can breakdown whether it is 'fresh' or not once we have. But to Matt's ears and opinion, he sees it as 'fresh'.
Also, using the word 'another' really doesn't go with 'fresh'. fresh usually means 'new' as in there is no 'other'.
Hope this helps you understand what fresh generally means love! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Word - I'd love to hear some new and 'fresh' things too.
We'll see. As I said in another post, there is more music to listen to that satisfies me (like Ben Westbeech, Ernesto, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Alice Russell, the Bamboos, Greyboy Allstars etc...), so while I wait for the 'freshness', I'll continue to indulge my ears in other things..
