Toby Smith Toby has been a part of Jamiroquai since its inception. Most of us love his vibes and harmonies, when he is playing the keyboard. He is da man. He has co-written most of Jamiroquai's greatest hits along with Jay. These guys can create magic whenever they want to, or so it seems. Toby is an essential part of Jamiroquai's success. Always was, and will always be. Amen.

Toby and Jay.....was it friendly split? .....At the homecoming gig, when Jay mentioned Toby, he said his name as Toby Smite.......which to me sounds like shite, another word for shit .I hope i'm wrong....because they were one of the best song writing duos there have ever been. And if it is, as it has been said, and he just needs some time with his family, then we might be blessed with their talent again. Lets hope so. All the best, Richard

Yes Darth, I heard something like that, too. I was a little bit disappointed because it would have been fine to see Toby as well at the Carling gig. He could have done one last song as a kind of good bye and then give it up to Matt. Toby's music projekts I read that Jay said one day before the concert in Lisbon that Toby has left Jamiroquai not only to spend more time with his family but also to start his own record company!

trance? yes, I would like to know that too! But I don't think he will do electro. that's more Jay's style... I also read Toby Smith said he would like to do music for movies!

Toby Smith: The Bard of Jamiroquai! Hello everyone, :jay2: I really like the ideas being around the campfire about possible avenues for Toby Smith to follow! I think Toby, after fully spending time with the family, should pursue scoring movie soundtracks, collaborating with other artists on a possible solo Toby Smith debut album (Artists he should hook up with: Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, Badly Drawn Boy, Robbie Williams, Yes and many others!), and return to Jamiroquai once he sowed his music deep into the subconscious of the music scene across both sides of the world! I do agree a bit of the original vibe that Toby gave off in Jamiroquai is gone, but with how the new band members are gelling with Jay, we have a reborn Jamiroquai with a new array of new sounds on the Orenda spaceship with a crisper more defined Jay Kay veering our cruise boldly to a new point in funky space that no band has ever gone before (A bit of homage to Star Trek!)! I wish Toby Smith the largest amount of good luck a Jamirophile like myself can expel, and hope returns to Jamiroquai in due time.....happier, safer, and ready to write a new Odyssey for all of us!
