Ben Westbeech
..I really don't know what it is with me and white boys from Europe (Lidell, Cullum, Ernesto, Peterson....), but I'm really diggin' the sounds, so that is all that matters. 
I know I am late in discovering him, but I want to run out and get everything this man has ever done. Ben Westbeech has a very smooth, soul voice. I think it's catchy and really dope.
His affiliation with Gilles Peterson and Brownswood Recordings earned an automatic approval rating from me really. He reminds me automatically of Jamie Lidell, and I always have room for men that can move me like Mr.Lidell.
I dig the track 'Hang Around' a lot as well as the 'Get Closer (Lovers Remix)', which you can hear on his My Space.

hey deesh,
just thought i would let you know - he is on 'later with jools' tonight and it is the last in the series. I have recorded the lot so far and will upload this performance of Ben for you this weekend. 
Paul Mcartney is also on doing his latest stuff - hmm  however he will be playing Beatles tracks so look forward to that.
Also Bjork with the teletubbies on brass??????

Thanks Russ - got your comment on My Space too.
Who said anything about him sounding like JK?  - Did they say that on the program or something?
I said he reminds me of Jamie Lidell, not Jay.

I see...I think they just want to lump all white boys that have a bit of a soul sound or influence in one category. Whatever

For all Stockholmer, hes performing today att 24.00, in K12 (Carl XII Torg) at the southern part of kungstradgarden.
Cant be there my brother is runnin the midnight track....i just have to watch that
