Jamiroquai Masterclass 18.06.07 - London
I have just returned home from the Masterclass in Kilburn, London, where Rob, Paul, Derrick and Sola, shared their musical talent, knowledge and experiences with students from The Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance. See funkin.com for the news item.

It was an exhilarating evening. I managed to talk to all the boys and also to Winston and Louise from Real. Lovely, lovely people!!

I didn't take any pictures of myself with the boys as I didn't want to. However, I did take some videos of their playing. I will upload these at some point tomorrow. Am exhausted and content and in need of proper sleep!

Until tomorrow.....

They played some Jamiroquai tracks BDC, HT, LF, SC, Starchild, did a jamming session with a member of the audience (a bass player - that was brilliant!), Patrice Rushden's Music of the Earth, Gnarles Barkley's Crazy and LY (with a vocalist Susan, I believe she was a student) and Sister Sledge - Thinking of you. (I may have missed a couple of tunes out.)

It lasted for nearly 2 hours. Rob and Paul did most of the talking and were extremely generous with their knowledge. It was great to see them perform in that way, both vocally and musically. Each member talked individually about their musical influences which was really nice to hear.

I am sorry to disappoint you all, but I didn't ask about them about anything in relation to Jamiroquai; I didn't think about it to be honest with you as it wasn't that sort of evening. There was plenty of humour too Wink All-in-all, it was a very relaxed atmosphere and I am glad I went.

Here the videos, enjoy them!

Love Foolosophy 1

Love Foolosophy 2

Thinking of You 1 (a short one)

Thinking of You 2 - Paul was certainly enjoying himelf Wink

Thinking of You 3

Black Devil Car (another short one)

Thank you Heather - you're an absolute star! Heart and thanks to Smita and Deesha who were supporting me all night long Heart (It was a bit daunting being there on my own, but I did it Wink )

(There is also a great comment made by Mitch on funkin.com)

kissing

Will check out the vids later, but my pleasure. It made my work afternoon go by faster! I felt I was there in spirit LOL

Thank you for reporting back to us and I know what you mean about not wanting to bring up Jamiroquai stuff. I felt the same way during my drum lesson with Sola.

I'm happy you were there to represent for all of us that couldn't make it. Great, short and simple review here, as well as on Funkin. 'Music of the Earth' is such a good track..love it!

Lovely to see the band playing together and venturing out to do some different type things. I bet that bass player and singer will have nice memories to build on from this.

Thank you also for the favor. You rock my world, my friend!

Much love, DD Heart
