Untitled 7th Jamiroquai studio album Quiz
Jamiroquai 7th Studio Album Quiz
We are still months and months away from the release of the new JMQ album, but maybe I thought we could exchange opinions on what would you like for this album, including:
- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
"Jazz/Funk"
"Funk/Rock"
"Disco/Electronic/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
"Jay"
"Buffalo Man"
"The band"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: +lenght and -quantity"
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"Supersonic"
"When You Gonna Learn"
"High Times"
"Love Foolosophy"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"If I Like It I Do It"
"Radio"
"Little L"
"Mr. Moon"
"Travelling Without Moving"
"Feel So Good"
"Runaway"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Cosmic Girl"
"Deeper Underground"
"Alright"
"High Times"
"Black Capricorn Day"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Where Do We Go From Here"
"Funktion"
"Music Of The Mind"
"Stop Don't Panic"
"Stillness In Time"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)

"Musical style/s through the album?"
Cool jazz + funk. I want them to do something out of the ordinary.
"What should the album cover feature?"
The Buffalo Man, a'course!
"What would you prefer for the tracklisting?"
Two songs, each 25 minutes long.
"From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?"
High Times
"Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?"
Yes.
"Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?"
Yes/no.
"Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?"
Yes.
"Should the album be more brass-orientated? "
Yes.
"Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?"
Give me an instrumental cool jazz/prog funk work with a wordless backing singer chorus and J on harp.
"If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?"
Freddie Freeloader/IILIIDI
"Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?"
Bring back the fluffy one from the EOPE era.
"Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist"
Cosmic Girl. Not that it's bad, but they're playing it too much.
"Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting"
Funktion. And a 15-minute version of that one, please. Or Snooze you Lose, but that one doesn't count.
"Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")"
Prince on Guitar, Ludovic Navarre (aka St. Germain) on piano, will.i.am on crack cocaine.
"Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?"
Uh... Yea.
"...propose a realistic title..."
"WAES" ("Water, Air, Earth, Space", prounounce as "Ways")
Tracklist:
1. Water, Air, Earth - 22:30 (Funk)
2. Space - 23:00 (Cool Jazz) |

You're hoping they read this? Anyway, here you go:
- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
"Jazz/Funk"
"Funk/Rock"
"Disco/Electronic/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
"Jay"
"Buffalo Man" - Any will do, I don't mind the detail.
"The band"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: +lenght and -quantity"
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"Supersonic"
"When You Gonna Learn"
"High Times" - Just because it has people happy in a sunny day
"Love Foolosophy"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
Only if it's good.
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
Why breaking the custom?
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
What backing singers?
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Of course.
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
That's implicit.
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"If I Like It I Do It" - No doubt. Though TWM would be a good choice too.
"Radio"
"Little L"
"Mr. Moon"
"Travelling Without Moving"
"Feel So Good"
"Runaway"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
What about one with lasers?
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Cosmic Girl"
"Deeper Underground"
"Alright"
"High Times"
"Black Capricorn Day"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Where Do We Go From Here"
"Funktion"
"Music Of The Mind"
"Stop Don't Panic"
"Stillness In Time"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
As long as it's not Robbie Williams...
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
I wouldn't mind.
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
WHAT? You mean it can't be The Space Cowboy's Synkronized Odyssey Without Moving On Planet Earth? That's mean, man!
Ok seriously now, there are a few questions I would rather leave open. I'm all down for evolution, so I'll be totally accepting new perspectives from Jay. I loved the EOPE and TWM eras, but we can't just stop there. Things must change, in order to get better. I agree it may not always be awesome, but face it, if we don't take a little risk and accept new material, we'll never know if the new material is awesome or not. _________________

- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
"The band"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"High Times"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
in a world so messed up that's sure...
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
no, but maybe the last track will be useless
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
yes, they deserve that
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
hell yes¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
at least two, pleaseeeeeeee
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"If I Like It I Do It"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
just he start with a new one, a one that no one knows...i want a re-start of the hats¡¡¡¡¡¡
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Black Capricorn Day"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Funktion"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
yes, but only if they really deserve to be on the songs...i mean, some duets are really good, but only if the band wanna call someone else(including musicians, not only singers please¡¡¡¡¡)
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
well, here many fans wins the name because finally they were used in the albums...like i never forget when i read ''dynamite'' many time before was released...
in a messed world i cant think on something better than''drop me a love song because my mind is dry'' or maybe''what are u waiting now?''
the second title can dig me, really
if some band use that tilte i will try to listen'em

Not all of the songs but maybe a couple yesss most definately in the affirmative there.. !
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
That would be most pleasurable, again we need a quality song here..pref with a didjiri involved in da process ..
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Travelling Without Moving"
"Mr Moon" (sorry but i can't and won't decide btween ths 2.)
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
Ahh man .. who cares??.. whatever floats his boat with the hat design as long as he sings.. and sings Well... All is good..
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Deeper Underground"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Stillness In Time"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
.. you mean like Feats: - Snoop Shaggy Dog...LMAO.. yeh coolio!!
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
ONe answer !----> YESSSSHHHHHIIIIT YEHHH...
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)

Re: Untitled 7th Jamiroquai studio album Quiz
I find some of these questions a bit silly... Yet it's impossible for me/us not to answer
- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
"Jazz/Funk"
though without throwing away the "electronic experience" of the very last albums!
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
Actually I'd like to see something different from the options you put... though I guess I have to respect the rules:
"Buffalo Man"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: +lenght and -quantity"
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
I don't care. I want some ideas: if it takes a long track to express and materialize each idea, there will be long tracks; otherwise...
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"Supersonic"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
I don't care. I don't give much importance to titles
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
I fear the day Jamiroquai will stop experimenting. So another mediocre track at number 6 is welcome... At least they tried
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
I think that the space they had in Dynamite was fair.
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Definitely.
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
Same scheme for the "lenght/quantity" answer. If a track needs vocals, let's put 'em in it!
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Travelling Without Moving"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
Didn't he leave his hat on the shore?
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Cosmic Girl"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Where Do We Go From Here"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
Why not.
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
It depends on the band new direction. If Wallis and his didgeridoo are in Jay's plans, he'd deserve more space than a mere track at the end of the album.
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store
