Aww, Brent, you're dissapointing me man! Eminem? really? I can't stand him!! I can actually go as far as to saying I hate him, but there should be no hating on this site, so I won't say it. But to each his own. My list would go something like this:
Jamiroquai
Ben Folds Five
Coldplay
Radiohead
Stone Temple Pilots
Beastie Boys
Pearl Jam
Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Stevie Wonder _________________ This is our corner of the Earth |

Not talking about quality, but if you´re asking about importancy, jamiroquai is not even in the first 15 ones. |

Yeah wait... This topic's rules and parameters haven't been pointed out enough. Be sure you're not confusing "most important" with "most favorite". Didn't "Q" magazine (one UK mag Im actually glad to get my hands on in the US) just have a top 50 list of the most important people in music today in one of it's recent issues?
Actually Im not quite sure what "most important" means either so I'll take a stab at it.
1) Eminem: anything this dude touches goes platinum
2) Coldplay: 2 very successful albums, and another on the way. I highly doubt the next will be bad. They're also important to me because I was privleged enough to see them live on my bday in '03.
3) Whoever picks up Phish's baton: Phish broke up. The hippies are all in a long state of mourning until Trey comes out with another solo album.
4) Usher: This dude is the same as Eminem in terms of his ability to sell records and now he's embarking on a big world tour with my boy Kanye.
5) Kanye West: Every Hip hop artist, group, singer, and even rock band (Hoobastank has him in their new video) wants this dude to either produce or appear in a song of theirs. It usually does quite well too.
6) R Kelly: Who cares that he's facing criminal charges? It's boosted his career immensly. He appears in songs with famous singers, rappers, and they all blow up like crazy. Check o0ut the new one with Twista and him if you got time.
7) Hoobastank: No sophomore album jinx with these guys. I think this band will be successful for a long time based on how "the reason" has done.
Linkin Park: Another successful record, arguably the most successful hard rock band out today, and a big tour (which Im seein featurin Korn and Snoop Dogg on the 28th).
9) Jessica Simpson: This isn't based on her popularity, we have to listen to her crappy songs, and now her sister's too. but their both so damn good to look at lol.
10) Nelly: He's been one of the most successful hip hoip artists the last 5 years, and now he's got another album, and a hot new song out. This dude ain't goin away.
Honorable mention goes to Pharell Williams: Between N.E.R.D., the Neptunes, and the various artists this dude produces (including a ton on the new Nelly album) it's tough to keep[ him out. Sorry I worte a novel. Peace! _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

The way I interpreted the question they don't quite deserve to make it. See Snorry's post. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

I know I can't. You see, I grew up with them (musically speaking), the group is an important part of me... like the Beatles were for many generations. What can I say...
