Hello,
Well, I must say, the NBC Network and MSN internet coverage of Live Earth last weekend was a VERY welcome change to the usual drivel that's on American television . Our media is not quick to either complain, condemn or even damn whatever is done that is positive in any form, and I think Live Earth was REALLY well done, and much more informative structure than the past Live 8 concerts. All the acts that performed were VERY SPOT ON, especially the Madonna/Wolfmother/Red Hot Chili Peppers/Beastie Boys performances, and for our "single-minded narcissitic media" to bitch and moan primarily about "low numbers of people watching it" is just a copout and very pathetic. Anyway, I think it was a good thing that Jamiroquai didn't participate, I mean, they aren't on a big record label, and if JK had struck a extended record deal with Sony/BMG or another label, that could have guaranteed Jamiroquai on the London gig bill. But they sat this one out, which is good and shows they believe in their own core beliefs of human responsibility on the enviroment and don't want to dance to the "Bono pan flute of 'Blah blah blah...thought about saving the world after we did the Joshua Tree' tripe". Now it would have been AWESOME, and very much a equational "Queen At Live Aid 1985" type of magical moment to have Jamiroquai, on the London stage, showing the UK and even the world what REAL FORETHOUGHTFUL LYRICAL MUSIC USED to look like, but that moment will come for Jamiroquai, but not at Life Earth. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

Well that's exactly what I wanted to suggest. This topic has become very critical with Live Earth so as to justify Jamiroquai's absence and, even if I may agree that it's all about hypocrisy, I also think that if the band would have been asked to perform, they'd did it. |

| Well, actually, I'm pretty glad they didn't parttake in it all. It would be really degradative for Jamiro as a funk band to show up among little shits such as the BEP and the RHCP who've got nothing to do with funk at all, but are still labeled that way. |
Whoaaaaa dude....that's quite the statement there mate. Either you haven't heard a lot of their stuff, or you have a vastly different definition of "funk" than I do. |
