- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
"Jazz/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
"Buffalo Man"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"When You Gonna Learn"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
Maybe ... Depends on the idea of the song
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
hope its a good song
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
they always help JK but they shouldnt get a MAJOR ROLE
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
lol yes ;D
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
teap but also in the singles should apear the real version (like in musin of the mind)
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"If I Like It I Do It"
or
"Runaway"
i like the idea and the musical issues of runaway
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
i like a lot the last hat the metal one
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Black Capricorn Day"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Music Of The Mind"
Love this track but i woud like it with vocals
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
No unless its a real star ... jamiroquai desirves it
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
i would love a final didge song
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
this is really difficult but i think i should be named : STILLNESS IN TIME
or the other name i figured out was: I CAN TAKE U THERE ...
(like Music of the mind say) |

Took me long enough to do this so here goes...
Musical style/s through the album?
"Jazz/Funk"
- What should the album cover feature?
"Buffalo Man"
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: -lenght and +quantity"
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
"High Times"
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
"Nah... oh go on then"
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums?
"While they may be inferior to other tracks on theirrespective albums, I don't personally see Stop Don't Panic or Loveblind as mediocre and I don't expect anything mediocre on the next album"
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
No
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Yeah baby!!!!
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
Yes
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Mr. Moon"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
Where does he go from the metal spikes??
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Alright"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Where Do We Go From Here"
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)"
No
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
I wouldn't object to a didgeridoo tune but maybe not as the final track.
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
My choice - Jamiroquai (self titled). _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

- Musical style/s through the album? (Choose one)
I'd have to go with Funk/Rock. If Runaway is any indication, the Disco/Electro/Funk sound is getting stale, and while I love the Jazz/Funk I think JK and the band knew when it was time to develop their sound and try something new. And while I don't necessarily want them to become a Chili Peppers tribute act I'm keen to see where they can take the Funk/Rock sounds of Black Devil Car and Radio.
- What should the album cover feature? (Choose one)
I'd like to see the band as a whole for a change.
- What would you prefer for the tracklisting?
"Songs: +length and -quantity"
"Songs: -length and +quantity"
I'd like something of a balance between the two. Maybe 12 tracks of about 4.5 - 6 minutes in length (see Time Won't Wait, Starchild & Talullah).
- From these selection, for the promo video for the first single, which style would you pick?
Tough decision... I'll go with Supersonic just because I can.
- Should we expect another song that starts with "Black..."?
hahaha.... without a doubt.
- Should we expect another mediocre song in track 6 like in the last couple of albums? Laughing
hehe... The only thing I didn't like about Loveblind was some of the slightly crappy lyrics. I thought it would have made for an interesting single choice though. Stop Don't Panic however was the definition of filler. I guess we'll wait and see what track 6 on the forthcoming album holds for us.
- Should the backing singers have a major role through the album?
Probably wouldn't hurt... Jay's voice seems to be changing as he gets older and the BVs seem to add a warmth and texture to the music.
- Should the album be more brass-orientated? (I can feel the answer already)
Only if the brass is used in a way that has the band acknowledging their past yet still moving forward. I LOVE the Emergency and Space Cowboy albums but I don't want Emergency #2 or Space Cowboy #2.
- Should the album include at least one instrumental track like the good old days?
I'd love to see them do what Morcheeba did with initial pressings of their Charango album in 2002 - release the album with a bonus disc of instrumentals of all the album tracks. I hope that's not too much to ask
- If you had to choose one song that represents the over-all musical feel of the album, which one of these would you pick?
"Travelling Without Moving"
- Which hat-style you think should Jay use as a logical step from the previous ones?
I have absolutely no idea.
- Pick one of this songs to be completely erased from the forthcoming tour tracklist:
"Deeper Underground"
- Pick one of this songs to be included on the forthcoming tour tracklisting:
"Funktion"
LOVE this song.
- Should the album include 'special guests'? (example: "Black Capricorn Devil Crow (featuring Will.I.Am)")
Only if they don't completely overpower the music - less is always more.
- Would you like another didgeridoo song stuck at the end of the album as a way to say "here's Wallis back"?
It would be lovely to hear, but having it tacked on to the end of the album would make it feel tokenistic. Almost as though they felt obliged to include 'a didge track' on the album.
- And finally, use your imagination and propose a realistic title for the album you feel would appeal to the fans, but also to the common buyer who walks into a CD store (with realistic I mean, nothing like "The Space Cowboy's New Odyssey", a re-use of previous titles)
Good question...
