Completely agree... I had an american boyfriend and I must say that really really helped... I do not suggest that u go out and have an american or british girlfriend (thought I'm not sure that would disturb u,  - probably u end up really loving my idea...)
But try chatting with native speakers... and also, try to watch movies in english (I find it easier than watching news) and then memorize some phrases and try repeating them. Then just listen to urslef and see if u're really improving... |

Expat is an expatriate community where people reside either temporarily or permanently in a country and culture other than their upbringing. In other words, there may be some English speaking people currently working in your area, and they may have organised certain events/groups where they get together, such as pub evenings, sports groups, wine tasting, dancing, etc. These will help you am sure. Mixing with English speakers is the best way to improve your language skills and you may make some good friends along the way too

The last dinner they had organised was on the 8th of June, so look out for future events/email them at "webteam@baexpats.com" to ask whether they have any events coming up in the future.
I can already see on there that people would like to do Spanish classes. If you choose to join this forum, then perhaps you can trade. You can teach them Spanish and they can help you with your English! Or you can offer to take some people on a local guided tour and practise your English that way The choices are numerous

You're welcome  Seriously, it's not complicated at all, though it may seem daunting at first (scary)....just join the forum and wait for another event to come up. Go to it and meet some people! That's all If you want to improve your English, you've gotta start somewhere Or like Dyego's, Maru's and other's suggestions, like watching movies etc. All advice on here is good

Expat are I suppose expatriates, in your case British people living in Argentina.
But don't bother about your accent, I have an accent like a good Luxembourgish farmer, like 99% of all Luxembourgers!!!

No, I really don't get a word of French, much less telling apart different accents.
@ Jamirocat, it's not wrong, it's... amusing! Perhaps you need to hear me to understand how bad it is

Another thing to improve your accent is just to sing English songs by artists who are native English speakers and paying attention how they pronounce the words.
No joke, that's the way I got rid of most of my Luxembourgish accent when it comes to English.
