cheers inaki,
i know what you mean about pre-ordering - you never know when they will send it and therefore take the money. I had to always keep £8.99 available just in case. _________________

I just realised this is the first thing by the band in the past 10 years that I haven't felt the need to rush out and grab on the day it was released...
Anyway - got it today... $12.99 Australian at JB Hi-Fi. They're almost giving it away! |

I was down at the local shops on Tuesday and found the DVD in all three music stores. I couldn't pick it up though as I had already ordered it through sanity.com.au! It arrived on Wednesday afternoon, which to my luck I had already left for the 3 day long school camp. You can bet that there was really only one thing on my mind during that camp.
So yesterday I arrived home and finally watched it. I have differing thoughts on the DVD though. It's all still great music but it really lacks any "excitement" that the Verona DVD had. I know it's a completely different setting but I felt that Jamiroquai definitely have performed better as a band. The way that Jay just casually comes out from the middle of the stage (rather than rushing out from the side and busting a move in the air) really sums up the whole concert.
With that being said though there are some real gems. I LOVE Use The Force, Butterfly and Just Another Story.
I'm not trying to bash this DVD at all. Jamiroquai is my life and it still is probably the best DVD I've bought this year. I just think that there needs to be a DVD that really shows the band at it's best. We all know that Montreux 2003 (and Verona) isn't what the band is currently capable of, or what amazing performances they've done in the past. I'd LOVE to see the whole concert of the Montreux's bonus track released on DVD. The general public only really know Jamiroquai as the pioneers of their disco-funky tracks (Little L, Canned Heat etc.), so a DVD of their early-early stuff would show everyone how fantastic they really are.

The text at the top of this screenshot as the credits roll on the DVD is interesting...
BTW, I ordered my DVD from HMV a few weeks ago and it arrived on Friday. |

BTW, just watching the space cowboy from 1995. Watching half the band smoking marijuana (the same joint) was most amusing. |
