What do you think 2008 will hold for Jamiroquai?
Hello,
Well, the last smoldering embers of 2007 are almost out and it's a pretty good 2007 for Jamiroquai, from the runoff success of High Times around the world to their Montreux 2003 performance FINALLY getting a proper release, and finally, finally Jamiroquai is FREE of the big labels! Anyway, what do you think 2008 will hold for Jamiroquai? A constant question I have been pondering in my freetime, well, here are a few possibilities I think could happen in the new year:
- Jamiroquai's studio on the AllDiggDown upstart pay download service goes LIVE and they start streaming live demos and unused New Material to awaiting fans through this site. Nearly all the their provisional demos from their impending first INDEPENDANT new album go out to the fans for modestly priced pay downloads ranging from .50 cents-1 dollar per.
- Jamiroquai spend most of 2008, at least the first half of it, in vigorous writing and recording of their new album, pulling out a few unexpected collaborations/returns of former bandmembers to the sessions mix. New album comes out in the UK, then stateside on or about late Summer/Winter 2008, with an expected world tour, concentrating more on "small venues" than big arenas, sponsered by name brands.
- Jamiroquai continue to innovate their Official Site and online presence by offering pay downloads of their new material via their Official Site, AllDigDown and a newly announced joining of forces with Apple Itunes. Featuring exclusive Jamiroquai pay downloads and remastered rereleases, with bonus material and new artwork, of their entire musical catalogue.
- Jamiroquai doesn't do anything except keep to themselves while working on their new album and take most of 2008 to fix out all the bugs and roaches.
There you go, I think personally Jamiroquai will spend more time embracing the internet for prospective paid and more self-controlled movement of their new music. But of course, knowing JK and the band, alot of MORE time will be spent on compositon for the new album. So I leave it to you, what do you think 2008 will hold for Jamiroquai? Cheers!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

YEAH RIGHT!!
Awww Brent I admire your innocence and imagination
I think they will record the new album, that's it. Perhaps some minor gigs to start feeling the 'live' shows again in late 2008. But nothing more than that.

Yeah I don't think JMQ will get up to that much next year, but I reckon there's a fair chance they will release a new album towards the end. I'm not too keen on the idea of buying new songs off the net, because it could dimish the audio quality . I think we'll see the band members collabarating with other artists in 2008 though. Should be interesting.
By the way, it's a great idea to check out some past member's works. Head over to myspace and see Super Phonics (Mike Smith, Van Gelder...)
and Akimbo (Van Gelder, Kofi Kari-Kari).
Some old unreleased stuff would be sweet. Does anyone know if JMQ can legally release this stuff without $ony? _________________ Bass to jazz.... j-j-j-jazz to bass... |

Well, they can either re-record all of it, or buy the master tapes back. I don't see any other way, frankly.
...and why is JF2K so obsessed with Jamiro going all indie and shit? |

This is my Dream:
Jamiroquai relocates to the U.S. and tours every club in every city (small venues of course) reuniting with the dream team members:
Stuart, Toby, Wallis, + Horns + back - up singers, and DJ D-Zire.
they concetrate on California in general while recording a 2-Disc Set in Hollywood with all new tracks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIGHT! only in my dreams!!!!
But Seriously: I hope they just bust out 10 new tracks that are jazz-inspired and funky......that we can get our hands on before the year 2010.
Hopefully they will also release the 2-Disc Double Live soundboard of the Clapham Common gig.
complete and un-edited.
ok now I am feeling a little insane!!!! as fans we should demand it!!!!!! right???? |

oh no, dude, Jamiroquai are British and they will remain British !
For 2008, that I'd love is that they release the twenty tracks of "Symphonised"... _________________

I'm starting to believe the people on this site are:
a) extremely imaginative
b) extremely high
I thought the topic was somehow 'realistic', not what we'd like them to do.
All that said, I don't think they will revisit old tracks for a while, they will focus on new material.

a) extremely imaginative --- Thank You
b) extremely high ---I make it a point to always be extremely high
But what do you expect from just pure speculation about what they could do in the near future??
I think we are all really anxious for some really kick-ass tunes.
"symphonised" now I don't even know what Yassence is talking about there....the Stu tracks?
Just like JMQ moving to the US....that will never happen.! |

yes, Symphonized was the original Synkronised projet, with Stuart Zender, 20 tracks, and a "Synkronised" track with S. Wonder, and Quincy Jones . _________________

Surely, yes!
What I meant is that everyone (myself included) are so anxious of getting some of the old unreleased stuff, which I think is very difficult. I believe the rights stuff won't let us hear the 'Symphonised' album, at least not in the following year.
I heard Jay in a few interviews saying that he always like doing new stuff, something I think is the logical step for 2008/09.
As far as JMQ going to the US, trying to record there like what they did with Dynamite, trying to recapture some of the success in the TWM era, I think that's a possibility. They also rebuilt the Chillington Studio... if I had a renewed studio, I wouldn't doubt for a second of going there and record some new music

Yep we may get hold of symphonised when we are stuck in retirement villages . It would so be worth the wait though. _________________ Bass to jazz.... j-j-j-jazz to bass... |

Except some concerts, I don't care about the old recordings right now. Personally I want some newwww material next year, and concerts with new arrangements for some tunes. |
