Christmas/Seasonal 2007
I thought I would open a new topic for any seasonal stories you wish to share over the coming period (ie, gifts you have received, Christmas/Winter recipes, funny stories, parties you are going to etc).

I will start with my story I want to share with you. This morning at work, we did a secret santa gift exchange. I received the most gorgeous collage of Jay pics in a lovely silver frame.

What I love about this gift, is that someone took the time to make it, instead of just going to the store and buying something. I found out who it was; she was over the moon that I love it! Very Happy

The perfect gift is a combination of money (it could be a small price sometimes) and time to make it ...and no doubt the second part is the most valued Smile

Laughing That's sound like a really neat gift idea!

That was really cool of that person to think you and JMQ!!

Well I had a pretty fun weekend, My friend celebrated her 30th birthday at the Standard Hotel and Rooftop Bar in downtown LA.

http://www.standardhotel.com

But of course the music there was 90% Rap and not the good kind of rap either Crying or Very sad

But the rooftop bar was cool, a really great view of Downtown, all of the buildings are decorated with red and green christmas lights.

They had these cool "pods" on the upper level where you could lounge in space age looking waterbeds.

and Downstairs they had this crazy funk odyessy style organ, so I had to get a picture of it !!

and here is wifey: in one of the pods.

So the next day, needless to say after drinking, and breathing in everyone's smoke>........we were extremely HUNGOVER!!!!!

but it was fun.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend...

Is he into sports at all? I am unfamiliar with the sports where you particularly live, but can you get tickets to a football game or something? I am not sure how much you want to spend or how much they are, but you can do dinner and then the game or something like that.

Is a music group coming to town that he really likes? You could buy concert tickets and make that a dinner/concert night type thing?

Also for men, some type of gadget or addition/accessory to a gadget he already has.

Does he read any magazines regularly about sports, gadgets or exercise or something? You could pay a couple months subscription for him or get it for him.

There's also clothes if you know his size and style well. Something versatile he could wear more than 2 seasons perhaps.

Does he like any TV shows currently or classic? Perhaps get him the DVD collection of that show or the most current season. Even with movies..does he collect movies? Perhaps get him a few.

Is there something he has always wanted to do or has been talking about lately...like take an art class, computer graphics class, dance class, guitar lessons, vocal lessons, carpentry class, skydiving (on second thought, not this one), boating, rafting, hiking or something like that? Get him a gift certificate to a class or lesson where he can be introduced to that thing. It is probably something he wouldn't go out and get himself, but if you pay for a lesson or class for him, he will more likely go and see if he enjoys it enough to go back and start a new hobby/passion that he only thought of before.

I would say what I got Clayton, but a part of me thinks he checks out these boards sometimes! what the f***

Good Luck!

Here's a question:

What do you really want to get this Christmas? (something realistic, not a Mini Cooper signed by Nick Fyffe)

(a CD? a vinyl? a Stereo System? a DVD? an action figure? sunglasses?... a hug?)

"We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.
Glad tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
Glad tidings for Christmas
And a happy New Year!

We want some figgy pudding
We want some figgy pudding
We want some figgy pudding
Please bring it right here!
Glad tidings we bring
