Drugs can't really affect your voice, but the insane lifestyle and stupid actions that drugs make you do CAN hurt your voice. For example, staying up all night taking cocaine instead of sleeping. If you get no rest, it's very easy to lose your voice and you can catch colds all the time. Or maybe you skip the soundcheck and your vocal warmup time because you want to go sniff coke in the bathroom while your bandmates are busy.

Lots of singers have encountered these problems. I don't like Bon Jovi, but I remember Jon Bon Jovi had the same problems during their Slippery When Wet tour. His singing was terrible, but when he got his life together his voice got better again.

The JK's voice had good times and hard times too, the shots are killing his voice after those years
