Hello,
First off, must applaud everyone for their great questions and massive thank James and Lifa for their indepth and quite passionate answers shedding alot of light about the creation of Nude Continuum, their musical influences, their debut album and much much more . And now, I have my own question for Sister Lija, AKA Princess Freesia about her style:
- I have been most impressed by your clothing and hair styles, from all the Uber/live NC clips I have seen, from your Official Site and other viral networks? What musical artists are influences on your overall look OR is it your taste for apparel and hairstyle? Any Cyndi Lauper/Debra Harry style influence too?
Thanks again for all your responses and we are all looking forward to hearing "Nudist" ! Cheers again!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 |
Hehehe, well it's like I said to Fra a few pages back - I haven't been consciously influenced by any artists in particular for my look, I just kind of fell into a flurry of Freesian frocks and locks after a flow of finger twistin' fluid wristin' hair moves! I'm sure there are people out there who have a similar thing going on, but at the mo I can't think of any one name in particular that I know of. I just sort of flow with my stylistic instincts, and the clothes and hair gravitate as a result! It's a fun process, a creative process and it just feels "right" for me. I love being free with the process to envision whatever I want to be whenever I wish to be it! It's a mystical manifestation...... _________________ You're flippin' about like a sunnybeam stretch

Say, I most probably won't be able to preorder your debut album via the internet, so can you tell whether I will be able to find a 'hard copy' of the album in Belgrade, Serbia, by any chance? Do you know anything about that? |
Hi Knjaz,
To give you a timeframe, we're getting the album mastered on Wednesday the 27th Feb, and then sending it straight off to press as soon as possible after that. This means we will definitely have hard copies in hand by the end of March. HOWEVER, to answer you question, because we are releasing it completely independantly, we are yet to get distribution deals sorted out to have hardcopies in stores around the world. Until we do organise that, we will be only selling the CDs through our website.
If it is any help, the album will be available to download as MP3's sometime in April I believe, and I will also be adding more payment options to our own online store as soon as possible, hopefully including direct credit card payment (rather that PayPal).
I hope that helps! :S
Love and much respect
James

The answer to this is simple for me.
1) To be able to live off my music - survive comfortably from the money earned from making original music and sharing it with the world.
2) Being heard and respected for what I do. Not by everyone, can't please everyone, but if a handful of people appreciate what we're doing, then we are successful (and we are already!)
3) The ULTIMATE - to somehow contribute to making the world a better place. To make others happy, ease pain, suffering, help with important humanitarian and environmental causes, speak out against wrong-doing, spread positive vibes wherever we perform our music!
Those three things are all I need to feel like I have achieved total success, but in the meantime, I already feel successful, because we are on the path which is half the battle - we've taken the first steps of this thousand mile journey.
Thanks Fra, and much love to you sista! _________________ I think I'll go for a wander yonder, find a place to play... |

Not a question really, but is quite amazing to read how everything puts together, with internet, how the assembling of different parts could reunite people, both in making music and relating one with the other.
I find that extremely interesting. Just imagine, 20 years ago, and now, how a band can create music together with members of the all-time favorite band. That concept of music is just beautiful!
In this community we always have that feeling, of interacting with the band, trying to get information from the... "original" source
And the music in general always makes us share things, different tastes and sounds, so in that sense this is an unique reading!
As soon as my internet connection gets fixed (been without it for quite a while), I'll explore your sites and songs I have to recover my online life lol

I agree completely. It's a privilege to live in this day and age and have the benefit of the internet! A "digital global village" I call it
Go fix your connection!!!

You always ask beautiful questions Fra - I just loves ya to bitsies
Goshums, James is such a wonderful expressionist! (in both word and song). He took the words right out of my mouth (or perhaps I saw them coming out of his and decided to gobble them up also ), but I'd like to add on if I may of my own experience.
Essentially, success to me is being able to eat a double chocolate chunk cookie without stacking on an iota of fat, skin breakouts or GUILT at the naughty!!! !!!!! Well ok, that's a very small and very insignificant aspect of what success means to me, so I'll start over, hehehe!
I place a great emphasis on happiness - not only for myself, but for those directly around me and even the whole world, nay universe!!! Contentedness arises from happiness, and vise versa, and everyday I am doing my best to attract and output positive vibrations, working with natural energies and healing methods so as to bring about my own personal equilibrium. I know that this is very important to me as I am reaching out to others and sending love and light through my musical channel, and so this channel must be brimming full of opportunism and hope, uninhibited and truthful emotional expression, whilst also overflowing with positivity, personal growth and healing. To see the impact this brings in engendering feel-good vibes in people fills me with a bubbly kind of love (an intrinsic part of why I am a creative!), so if I can consistently create good vibes for myself and share and spread this externally to others, I am happy as a clam and consider this a significant and holistic success for all! And I really truly am grateful for the gifts the universe has bestowed upon me. I love life, I love creativity, I love YOU GUYS!!!!!! I'm about to burst from the joy I feel right about now - I'm actually teary! Call me an emotionally sensitive creature, but I'm so thrilled to be sharing this with you all. Let's keep on wif da good vibes!

4) Synkronized - Despite what I've heard some say before (namely reviewers), I really dig this album to the core. I think (and I'm sure James would agree) that this was the album where the Jami sound reached a vital peak; the meshing of live and electro elements was beautifully complimentary, and happened to (in my opinion) bring forth one of the most lusciously and best-produced Jami albums ever.

Couldn't agree more!
I always felt the same with this album, the sound is great, and you expressed it perfectly.
I think Sola also mentioned this, in some interview, can't remember. He said something about how he digs the way the album was produced.

Hi guys...
Any future plans to gig down here in Melbourne once the albums done?
Also... did you ever go to a Swoop gig in the 90's? (they were from up your way, weren't they?) Haha. |

Hi Andrew!
We're definitely planning on playing in Melbourne soon! No solid plans yet, but stay tuned!
I know that Swoop song "Apple Eyes"... that was great! But no, never saw them as I was a child in the 90s, and also spend most of the 90s in Adelaide where I grew up. Didn't even know they were Australian! Haha.
Love and much respect to you mate

Oh my, there have been quite a few!!! For me of course, some things I have already mentioned (meeting James, discovering Jamiroquai which led me down the path of many musical and creative ventures), but I would certainly say that my continual personal inner and outer experiences significantly shape my own music as PF; of course I invent and/or exaggerate scenarios too, but at it's core it remains a deeply personal diary.....one that I wish to share, hehe.
I'm sure James has something (or things!) to add for his own journey.
