You're right... We all know they're recording some new tunes... But I didn't think that would be so quickly done !

 Realistically, they'll probably do one or two "new" songs from this year's Chillington sessions, 
As far as we know, we don't know if an "entire" album will even be released, with the way things are going in the recording industry  , I believe that it would more lucritive  for them to release songs digitally one by one, rather than trying to promote a whole album.
And the quote from the Rock in Rio website saying that they will perform songs from thier new album, well they could be a) referring to High Times The Singles, or b) Dynamite for all we know. 
most of the time venue websites like that don't give correct information anyway.
But It is wishful thinking that they hopefully will bust out some new shizzit!!!!!!!!! 
Let's hope!!!! Bands like Jamiroquai would ultimately perfect new material before recording them by performing them a bunch of times ......
first! but it seems that there is an anticipation from a lot of people just to spit out studio tracks as soon as possible, which isn't always that good.
Take Radio for instance, it was put out really fast, and written really fast, but never went anywhere.....it kind of just faded away...  I hoped that would become a single...but you know... Runaway was a little more polished, and probably spent more time on.
That's just how it goes...

but Radio is a disaster of song... (dunno if it is well for music to call it a song)
Runaway... was... well.. there's no Derrick in this one... so... i prefer the Abbey Road version...
they just have to record their stuff and release it and see wot happens!

well, i won't mind about what the rockinrio site says about what they gonna play, but for me it's totally clear that they will play some new song together with new rehearsals of older songs

Great news indeed 
It always gets me excited anything related to 'new' material. As far as I know, I think the writing process is longer than the recording part. I could be wrong, but they should've played some demos by that time, so I don't see why they can't play one or a few new tunes.

Radio was in fact suposed to be a single, most of the 2-tracks that comes with every Greatest Hits album gets its single release. I think it was in Sola's site, where he claimed that "2 new singles coming soon". Singles, not songs or tracks.
