...And is that Rhodes and electromechanic thing? It sure looks like one of them! |
Yes. Euan plays a 1969 Fender Rhodes Mark I which is a true Electric Piano - basically instead of strings, it has these tuned steel bars that the hammers hit, and there are a few guitar pickups inside that amplify it - one of the best keyboard sounds ever. He loves his little baby Rhodes!
He runs this vintage keyboard through his 1986 Roland Jazz Chorus amp which has a beautiful sound when the two combine.
To add the vintage quality, Rob plays a Fender Jazz bass that I believe is from the 70s - in really good nick. He has a Sedowski preamp on it and has basically set it up like Marcus Miller. He's running it through an Avalon 737sp pre-amp and then into his cabs.
Since I'm listing this gear, I might as well go all the way.
Leon plays a Yamaha Maple Custom kit that he had made especially for him a couple of years back. His father has a sponsorship deal with Yamaha, so he gets the benefits and discounts like that.
I play a Line 6 Variax 300 guitar through a Pod XT Live.
Stevie plays a Korg Triton LE and a range of saxes from brand new, to vintage op-shop numbers

It doesn't feel too weird - just exciting to know that people are hearing our work
I'll takr this oppourtunity to share some news. Last night, as Sandriche is pointing out, we had our radio debut with our track "The Angel is An Animal", the first single from our album that will be available as a free download for a short time as of this week from www.respectmusic.com.au
It includes some great remixes from Harry Coade, Soulpersona, Niel'C vs. Soul Conspiracy Towerpower, Rubber Johnson and more. Check the website out and grab it free while you can
So the label that is releasing our singles and album as digital downloads (Respect Music) has also launched a new weekly radio show - Respect Music Radio. Last night they played Angel and a remix of it, and next week we will be the featured artist including a live on-air interview.
In last nights show, using my magical powers, I arranged a little surprise for Meike, Sandriche and Fra who were lovely enough to tune in with me and listen to the whole show. I've recorded it and put and edit of the highlights here:
http://roff-revolution.com/storage/RMR160308-NCHighlights.zip
if you want to hear the full show (as there is some amazing music played) grab that here:
http://roff-revolution.com/storage/RMR160308-FullShow.zip
If you can, tune in next Sunday, and if you like it, any Sunday after that. The show goes from 7pm to 9pm GMT+10. If you're in England, Spain, Portugal etc. that's at 9am to 11am. If you're in Western Europe, that's 10am to 12pm. The rest of world can work it out from there I guess
To tune in, go to this page and download the .pls link:
http://www.mainchoicemedia.com/~radiom/player/page.html
Hope to see you all there next week. Let me know if you're tuning in and I'll try to give you a shout out like I arranged for the girls this week. Next time Freesia and I will be able to do it personally as we'll be in the studio.
In other news, the finished album should be arriving back this week, so those who pre-ordered their copies can expect them soon!!! I will put up another post when it is back and in hand.
Another bit of news - we have our first confirmed gig for the European tour in July. It is on the 31st July (Thursday) at Jazz Re:Freshed (Mau Mau Bar) on Portobello Road in London. Derrick has already agreed to play with us if Jay doesn't book him in for a JMQ gig between now and then, so it should be a killer night! Will give more details closer to it.
Must go back to work now!
Love and respect to all the Jamily

Eeeee, not exactly
I played NC back on 30th December of last year as the "looking forward to in 2008" project on radio Wave in my little show (around 10 000 listeners in average in Czech Republic)!
I`ll post the exact part of the show here soon... |

I'd also be happy to send you a copy of the album if you feel inclined to play more.
That goes for anyone else in the Jamily who works in radio too, just let me know
Love and respect to you my friend!

You must know what track - the only available - Get Naked (Original Edit) upgrade by me from 4:25 version to 4:40 version because of talking in the beginning...

I actually have no time to ask you, because right now I`m in the process of sending emails about NC to my "funky friends" in Czech Republic to let them know about NC and to do mass reservation of the album(s) in near future. But one copy for the radio and also for my review at www.groove-on.cz, where I`m contributor would be fine!
I also send you an email about one of the biggest summer festival in our republic - Sázavafest where I`d love to see NC but there is only small hope because I don`t know anybody from the management still. But maybe one of my colleague from radio can help me... |

Thanks Tlum!
You're a champ! Can't buy support like that. Thank you so much from the bottom of our nude hearts
Shoot me an email to james@nudecontinuum.com and let me know your postal details, will have one to you as soon as they arrive
Looking at the Groove-On site now. Looks amazing! Let's see what we can cook up between us for that. I'll talk to my UK tour manager and see what he thinks, but do let me know if you have any contacts.
Much love and respect again my friend
