let's get it on the radio...
Hello everyone - I just wanted to let you know about this incase you around your computer tomorrow!  I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure it'll be fine!
In honor of National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Thursday, March 20th, Philadelphia AIDS activist/educators, Jimmy Biddle and Deesha Dyer will be discussing sex, AIDS, STI's, etc. on the Basement Party radio show, 107.9 FM with DJ Lady B. They will be on for an estimated 30 - 40 minutes anywhere from 3:30 pm - 5 pm, Eastern Standard Time. 107.9 plays old school hip-hop and R&B and can be listened to around the world online at http://www.1079wrnb.com (look to the right, you'll see a red box that says LISTEN LIVE). As you know with radio, they give you an "estimated" time that you will be on, so unfortunately, that is the best window we know of now. Deesha and Jimmy are volunteers together at ActionAIDS (www.actionaids.org) and speak together around Philadelphia at colleges, high schools, and jails surrounding the topic of HIV and AIDS.
We hope you can listen, support, but most of all learn about HIV and AIDS. If anything changes, I'll inform you guys!

Have just tuned in and heard the girls introducing "DEESHA AND JIMMY" who will be joining them later.....woooohooo Deesh GO GIRL!!!!!!!! Am staying here to listen to you!
Talking about different flavoured condoms now, which is for sending message out to the youth of today.
(Alicia Keys just came on....I love this song)

What a wonderful interview Deesh - you both spoke from the heart - it was clear and concise - a perfect way to get the message across about this killer virus. Well done to you and Jeremy for taking the time to help people out there understand the dangers of taking sexual intercourse and other linked factors for granted. I salute you girl!
I hope others on here heard this interview! Deesh, any chance you would have/know of anyone who has recorded it?

Anna - you are the best  I got your SMS while on the air and showed Jimmy. Thank you for the overseas support girl. Means a lot to me that you got to listen. LOVE YOU!
Sandriche and Meike - Thanks for the love too. I am not sure if they recorded it, but I will find out.
I WAS SO NERVOUS! But, got comfortable as time went on. We were only supposed to be on for about an hour, but that turned into 2 hours! Very cool experience.
Special thanks to Lady B for having Jimmy and I on, and I give so much respect and props to Jimmy for being so open with his status on air. That takes courage.
Hopefully some paid speaking gigs for him to help his income will come out of yesterday.
We had a great time on and off air with Lady B and her wonderful staff. This all came out of when I interviewed her for the Citypaper music issue a few weeks ago, for which she was on the cover.She found out I did CYL and wanted to have me on. So, much love to her for even extending the invitation.
God is awesome with the blessings sometimes, even when I get frustrated...
Anyway, here are 2 pics from yesterday, have a good weekend ladies and I'll let you know about the recording
