Recomend me some songs!
I just heard Virtual Insanity for the first time and I'm really liking what I hear. Can someone recommend me some other songs by Jamiriquai that have more of a jazzy feel than funk/disco-ish? _________________ Man's reach exceeds imagination. |

Take from the begining, listen JMQ albums - EOPE, ROTSC, etc.: first you've got to be funkatized _________________

I just say:
Buy at least the first two albums "Emergency on planet Earth" and "The return of the Space Cowboy". You won't regret it. _________________

My favourite:
"The return of the Space Cowboy".
But if you are more into mainstream music, go for "Travelling without moving" or "Synkronized", which are still great albums but, as I said, more mainstream. _________________

I think if you have heard virtual insanity, you should buy the album travelling without moving _________________

let's put it this way:
Emergency On Planet Earth: a much more acid/jazz orientated, a collection of sounds that go from Stevie Wonder to Roy Ayers, the music Jay used to listen (70's, and 80's old school)
The Return Of The Space Cowboy: Pretty much a continuation of the previous album, but it definetely marks a breakthrough for the band's sound. Is considered as their best yet.
Travelling Without Moving: A little bit more mainstream, flirting with more danceable tunes. Is the bridge between TROTSC and...
Synkronized: Much more disco orientated. Lots of rhythms, keyboards and strings.
A Funk Odyssey: Electronic and Bossa Nova mayhem. If you're into electronica and dance, this may suit you. Instead, stick to the mellow songs (Corner Of The Earth, Black Crow, Picture Of My Life)
Dynamite: For me this is how AFO should have been. A nice balance between electronic/disco music and the classic Jamiroquai sound.
-----------------------------------------
There, make your decision. I strongly recommend Emergency On Planet Earth for your first listen.

Oh wow, thanks a lot, that really clears it up. I think I'm going to get all those sooner or later since they all sound good, but since I'm a jobless teen, I'm only going to be able to get EOPE for now. _________________ Man's reach exceeds imagination. |

Hey, welcome coldflames!
Maybe for you a good thing would be the Greatest Hits? A bit of all albums?!
I have another tipp for you... go to the JIWA website - there you can listen to a few albums (I think the first two albums are not included, unfortunately...) for free!
Follow this link and then click on the little button "more"... so all available albums will appear, also remixes and so on.
Also, I have seen good offers in the past for the first 3 albums in a bundle for a special price! Or maybe check ebay for used CDs! You can get them for a few Euros maybe!
And save some money for the tour for the next album (next year?!) Nothing can beat the experience to see the guys live!!
Hope this helps a bit... enjoy listening!!

In my opinion the greatest hits album is not such a good idea to buy, because many songs on it have been cut. _________________
