Thanks for the review posts Meike, very interesting,
The thing is, the band is good enough to be able to produce great recorded music the analog way. There are other bands out there without much experience that now probably need to use computers, tricks, and overdubs.
That's what makes Jamiroquai such an awesome band, Derrick's been with them for like 13 years! Drummers and bass players are the backbone of groups ... can't wait to hear what they have planned. ! |

OK so obviously JMQ wont go back to it's old sound ie EOPE, Space cowboy, nothing is as clear etc but i really hope we're not going to be served with some nonsense album that's realy ermm "out there" that we'll be forced to stomach just coz we're die hard JMQ fans. pardon me for not being all that excited, it's just that i hate to be disapointed by ma fav band and chances are this new album that's "going to be a change" will cause me to put a forced smile on ma face while i listen with the illusion that the next song will be better...
But other than that, its steller news
P.S indeed the soulsista is back |

It is really hard to describe.. I was sitting in that car, and couldn't believe it at the same time.. it was so unreal. From outside there was such a loud noise, because there was a DJ team on stage and the bass was damn loud.
From what I remember: The songs were demos and not finished. Jay made some comments here and there what will be added.. he mentioned brass!!! YES!!!
What I remember: The chorus from "I could see her dancing" was very catchy. After listening to the chorus one time I could even sing along when it came again... but meanwhile I forgot it.
The style was different to all what they have done before.. but still it was Jamiroquai. Instruments all live... it didn't sound jazzy, but groovy in my opinion. I remember that I liked the rhythm which was not common, but exceptional. It was unique.. i cannot refer it to any style or to any song they have done in the past.
Sorry.. i cannot tell more... _________________ ~ I look up to Heaven, every star I see is mine.

Come on perplexed soul!!!
Don't be so pessimistic, all the people I asked, who listened to Jamiroquai's new tunes, were quite delighted about them, not only because they could sit with Jay Kay in a Benzo.
Really, you're sending quite bad vibes here, complaining about Jamiroquai's more recent sounds. I have to agree, Dynamite isn't really a great work in my opinion, but I prefer it still more than most of the music you can here on the radio nowadays! _________________

lol you view it as pessimistic, i view it as realistic. there really hasnt been anything to be positive about anyway
And these people you asked probably discovered JMQ when they released AFO therefore their opinions dont count
Bad vibes ?? hai ke then so be it...i will not hold back. shit ma ppl been silenced for to godam long...
P.S that's why i dont listen to radio (pun intended)... |

Well, I was one of them and I listen to Jamiroquai since 1993... nevermind.
Those parts of the songs were unfinished, but jay said they gonna add the brass section! I think this is a good sign! Don't you think?
What I heard was better than AFO or Dynamite! It was not a copy of any of their older stuff.. and I am glad about that - don't get me wrong.. my favourite albums are the first 3 ones, but I want new stuff, not copies! It was very fresh and had a groove although it were only demo versions! I am curious how it will sound when it is finished!!
And the best thing is: Jay was damn proud of it which shows me that he is doing exactly what he wants - not having a record company behind his back! _________________ ~ I look up to Heaven, every star I see is mine.
