Hello,
Well, today is the day, and yes, actually looked forward to clonking my fingers down on that "blasted and confusingly looking touchscreen voting machine" . According to the "giddy-up and gall-up" polls I have read throughout the last few days, Obama leads McCain by a +10 point lead, and yet again, I voted for him, kind of proud to see all those Republican supporters at the polling stations with "I can't believe I am supporting McCain look of collective unhappy chagrin" on their faces handing little pamphets telling me to vote Republican, and it wasn't even the older, more insane-minded adults out in force this time, it was just their children, not even looking at you and checking their cellphone text messages. Anyway, the "overhyped worry" about long lines of voters waiting to vote is pretty much a "hyped up American Media urban legend", it's ONLY true when most of the people have gotten off work and rush to their polling stations.....then THERE CERTAINLY be long lines to wait in. But do like I do, fellow voters, go early OR fill out an absentee ballot....and VOTE VOTE VOTE! Cheers.......and GO OBAMA/BIDEN!!
Sincerely a happy voter,

Re: Lines
It depends on where you live. I went at 730 this morning and had to wait 40 minutes. Clayton had to vote elsewhere and waited about an hour and a half. Miami friends say they had to wait 3 - 4 hours.
There are going to be lines. But it is worth the wait and most people planned for the lines. Looking at them makes you feel more inspired. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Waiting for hours to cast your vote.
There must be an easier way....
I wish all ppl who will have to vote, good luck!
Thumbs up for Obama.
If i see him on TV, he looks soooo young.
Will he also be the youngest president? _________________ May you always feel the wind on your face and the waves on your toes |

I guess Kennedy was younger than Obama, but I don't know for sure.
Some voting computers broke down already (they say in German news)
Maybe the Republics try to manipulate?? |

I voted for Ralph Nader.......Green Party.......other parties are too corrupt.
I also waited in line for about 15 mins. then the ancient "volunteers" put my ballot in a void box because the machine was down. incompetent people that don't know what they are doing should not work at the polling stations!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Both JFK and Bill Clinton were younger than Obama. I guess he looks so young because McCain looks so old! _________________

My feeling is that Obama won by giving hope and John Mccain lost beacuse of fear if you know what i mean, just what made george w bush president.
So im really glad for you all in the states! and elsewhere

I can't describe how I feel right now.
Obama is not a Savior or Messiah, but after what we've been through for the past 8 years, people are just overwhelmed with emotion that he is leaving office. Understand that is part of people's joy. I went outside to an unofficial parade around my house. I live in an all Black neighborhood, basically until you walk about 5 or so minutes. There were older women that were just crying...women that had survived the discrimination of this country. People were so inspired, I can't even put into words...I just can't. I just tried to capture it with pictures, so check my facebook and myspace for them.
It's hard to describe what I felt...so much...Talking to my Grandmother, who just cried and cried. She was part of the generation that was jailed for racism and had to drink from 'negro only' places.
It's not all about race however, it's about fixing or dividing the slice of USAmerican pie equally. But know that this is USAmerica, and so much is still about race.
Also, it is important to know that same sex marriage was voted against in California, putting a limit on abortion didn't pass in South Dakota and there were 2 animal rights laws that did pass in some states. Here is that verbage: Animal rights advocates also won victories in two states. Massachusetts passed a measure to ban greyhound racing by 2010 and California approved an initiative to outlaw the confinement of pregnant pigs, calves raised for veal and egg-laying hens "in a manner that does not allow them to turn around freely."
I know you guys watch TV, and it look like Obama is regarded too high as if he will fix everything and understand, it isn't all like that. We are just happy to see that someone else besides Bush is going to be leading the country. Things are so down right now that people are looking for hope and change anywhere.
Government is still government and still a bit shady. Atleast this time we have a good pair of sunglasses on.
We'll see what happens. So much work to be done. This isn't the end. President Obama has some serious challenges coming his way. Economy being one of the biggest.
I'm happy to now say I met and shook the hand of our new President (in April 2008).
Hope all of you are well. Won't be around much!
