So, now I'm am back from London and I have to say that I made a negative and a positive experience over there.
First the negative one: The plane landed abruptly in Stansted. I mean, the landing was very prompt and hard and the runway seemed to be quite short, because the plane took a left turn at the end of it with quite high speed.
Then the (most) positive one: The concert was maybe one of the best I heard ever. Those guys are funky to the bone, I couldn't hold on my seat.
(by the way, Derrick remembered me from Ahaus! )
Of course I was very happy to meet all of you guys, the Germans, the Italians and the Brits. I hope to meet you all soon again! _________________

Just opened my eyes since last nite land ( followed by a Xmas party...where my feet were asking for justice).
As Andrè said I'm almost sure that it was the best gig of my life and I can say it 'cause I almost cryed on brass ( ok, without the almost), enjoyed all the 4 voices being astonished time by time, adored the bass ( hard not to), danced on the guitar lines, prayed for the keybord/piano player never to stop, and danced at Derrick's groove all the gig.
We had an amazing chance, plus we were togheter, the best spended money in so long time!!
One question: @ Anna : where were u?? I scanned all the faces of the place, asked to everyone ....but there were no sights of you.
Russ: shoulder of my gigs...we have to work on your dancing desire and on our dreams ehehe
Janice, Nicki, Nadine and Lorraine...our coreoghrapies were stunning!!
Andrè: you are a real discover!! believe me, my friends were still talking about your wonderful pugliese's accent last nite
Thanks u all _________________ No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main and any man's death diminishes me, because

just want to say more of the same really:
- Top quality gig
- Top quality venue
- Top quality experience
& Above Top quality friends
it was nice to hear some old funky classics including 'Talking Loud' & 'Highest High' mixed in with a few Real tunes Also in the line-up was Daniel Pierce on percussion and vocals - what a talent!!
I would also like to make people aware of the new Jools Holland Cd - 'Informer' which is probably the reason that Winston Rollins was not there - as he is part of the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
cd here - http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1;-1&sku=890431
well worth a listen _________________

And another update...
Funk Affair - a group featuring Jamiroquai band members Derrick McKenzie, Rob Harris and Paul Turner have a number of 2009 dates listed at the Ronnie Scotts club in London's Soho. The dates are 11 January, 1 February, 1 March and 5 April.
"A hard night of solid funk from this great collection of UK funkateers. With members of acid jazz stalwarts Jamiroquai (original drummer Derrick McKenzie, bassist Paul Turner and Rob Harris on guitar) joining the excellent Louise Pollock, well known both on the Ronnie's bandstand and across the country for her work with Real featuring Louise and Winston Rollins, expect some seriously deep grooves tonight..."
For more information about Funk-Affair and to buy tickets please visit the Ronnie Scotts website

*slightly off topic*
To all who came over for the Funk Affair in December: Am so sorry that I didn't manage to make it and I owe you all an apology. My friend's son committed suicide and it was a dreadful time for everyone. I am sorry I didn't explain this sooner, it was and is a difficult time.
However, I am glad you all had a great time at Ronnie's, especially for those of you who hadn't been there before. It's a wonderful venue and Funk Affair is always a wonderful experience. Am sorry I didn't get to see you.
*off topic again* Happy new year to you all xxx _________________ Jamiroquai - it's stitched into the clothes that I wear... |

Oh Anna,
you don't need to excuse at all, I'm just sorry I wasn't aware of that at we couldn't meet to hug away the sadness.
I hug you virtually now _________________ No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main and any man's death diminishes me, because
