Bush fires in Australia.
Horrendous fires in Victoria. Death toll is circa 130 at the time of this post, and at least 750 homes have been destroyed. Pretty ghastly stuff. I believe there are several charities, including the Red Cross, which people can donate to to help out rescue and relief efforts.
It's certaily disturbing that investigators claim that the fires may have been started by arsonists. But I'll reserve my judgement until they conduct a more thourough analysis. Sadly, if the fires were deliberately lit, it's reasonably unlikely that those responsible will be caught. _________________ Bass to jazz.... j-j-j-jazz to bass... |

I think it's right for those who started the fires should be charged with murder.I believe this because anyone who lives in Australia should be fully aware of how trechorus bush fires really are. My deepest sympathies go out to those affected by these selfish acts. _________________

I agree.
About 35 miles from me, the little town is dealing with an arsonists as well, but I don't think anyone has been killed because of it.
Peace and Blessings to Oz. _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Death toll now 173. Seb - an arsonist is someone who deliberately starts fires. I think that in most cases it is linked to a mental illness/condition, or some kind of urge to create chaos. I'm sure wikipedia will give a more accurate description than I can.
And yet flooding in another region of Australia is taking place. Truly bizzare. _________________ Bass to jazz.... j-j-j-jazz to bass... |

Absolutely terrible what has happened over in Victoria not just the human lives lost and people affected but there have been countless millions of wildlife perish in these fires. Really sad.
If anyone wants to help and donate the red cross australia are raising money for all those affected you can go to
http://redcross.org.au
that's the official australian red cross website and the RSPCA australia are also taking donations to help some of the injured wildlife too. _________________
