ragadoodles i 1000% agree with you.
I will love this band till the day i die and will love anything they do. However on that bombshell i have to say they need to start doing other songs for the concerts. I have thought that since about Syknronized and then confirmed it with A Funk Odyssey. They keep playing the same tracks then pepper in some of the new album tracks for the time. They have 8 albums worth of songs to choose from yet stay with the same 12 or 14. I know we have all wondered what other songs would sound like live like Where Do We Go From Here?, You Are My Love, Feels So Good, Do You Know Where You're Coming From.
Anyway ragadoodles, I just wanted to let you know you have another voice with your message. _________________ "...200 miles per hour and still movin'..." |

And I 1000% agree with you!! I think they should start playing some other musics on the gigs like Where do We go from here? Falling or maybe some old tracks like Too Young to Die, Blow Your Mind, Stillness in Time _________________ jamiroquai music is like the air...you need it to live

Maybe it's because we listen every single concert they play
Setlists are made for people in those concerts, 97% of which never heard that setlist.
Almost every band has an unique setlist for each tour, and come on, even within the tour, the always play something different. Including 'The Kids' is the most recent one.
I mean, honestly, you can't complain. You just can't. |

Jamiroquai is doing the same as Kiss. Doesn't change the set list. This can work but they can do better. |

I can´t complain???
Yes,i can....and i do it!!!
80% of the holy Setlist are always the same..They have lots of great songs, some never play live. Sometimes i think JMQ existence authorization based on Space Cowboy and Cosmic Girl, made for "simple people". But real fans or music lovers wants more than this and I ´m SURE JMQ can more than this, more than all the same.
What do you expect from the future, from the next album, from the new tour? 2 or 3 new songs and than? Little L,Deeper Underground,Space Cowboy and the lovley Cosmic Girl again ?
First I would and then _________________ I´m breaking out,I´m flying higher than a pig in space |

Different songs would be really nice for us at home waiting to play the concert in the private of our own ears, however, they are doing a concert for fans that probably have NEVER experienced a Jamiroquai concert and fans just grateful for the chance to see them. I think it would make sense to play tracks that the fans are familiar with more than ones they aren't as familiar with. Out of a crowd of Jamiroquai concert-goers, there are a handful or two or three that are hardcore, like us. Most are casual - high fans that don't know all the words and don't check online for the setlist to each concert to even know that is the setlist they always play.
Plus, who knows if the guys are even good at playing those other tunes. Hell, they could have tried them in rehearsal and decided they don't sound that great and scrapped them. Who knows?
The concert wasn't for us. The concert was for them (Indonesia fans), and from the sounds of it - the fans that weren't there are the only fans not happy with the setlist.
I'm pretty sure the next time around, the band will whip out some fresh tunes and perhaps got back in their catalog. I'd hope and think so. But honestly, even if they came back to NYC and played the same set, I'd be singing and dancing right along - too caught up in the moment to care that it was the same ol' setlist. > _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |
