School uniforms
hi everyone!
i was visiting an australian school yesterday . Here everybody wears uniforms...
i wanted to know who of you had to wear an uniform at their schoolform and the experiences with it.
in AUSTRIA we don´t have school uniforms.
i think it´s still pretty old fashioned and leaves no room for individuality..
what does everyone think? _________________ "Here it is...there is no way to make it better " |

Hi Sandriche. Yeah, school uniforms are pretty much ubiquitous in Australasian secondary schools. I went to one of only a handful of New Zealand colleges without a uniform. I have to say, I think uniforms are bad. My friends who go to schools with uniforms all act the same, it's really creepy. I'm a supporter of individuality, you've gotta learn to motivate yourself and feel good about yourself as an individual. _________________ Bass to jazz.... j-j-j-jazz to bass... |

QFT.
Here in Italy we used to dress uniforms only in elementary schools. Once (when my sister went to middle school, about 20 years ago), uniform was mandatory in middle school too (for girls only). _________________ there's a stillness in time, which I cannot define, does your heart bleed like mine?

I think they are not that good but you know...with a uniform there's no such thing as a 1000 euros jeans and a 5 euros jeans. No one makes jokes on the others because they all look the same! It's good on that prisma.. _________________ GIGGLES! |

Like u said, caroli, i think uniforms are good because people are all with the same clothes and there's no jokes.
On the other hand, i don't like to wear uniform everyday. Sometimes you like to wear your new jeans or your new shirt. In my colllege there's one day in the year that you don't need to wear the uniform. But it's only one day, in hundreds!
Personally, i don't like to wear uniform. Hopefully, there's only one more year of torture _________________ jamiroquai music is like the air...you need it to live

Where I live, it is mandatory to wear a white labcoat in state-regulated primary schools (private schools often don't require it). I used to find it pretty annoying first but then I got used to it. Then I saw The Matrix and thought it looked cool unbuttoned and flying behind me . They always asked me to button it back.
It's not required in high schools, although private schools usually implement some kind of uniform. The school I went to was pretty laid back in that regard and only required the use of a T-shirt with the name of the school printed on it (and sweat shirt in winter). While I was in high school, I used to find uniformed girls a turn on... sadly, uniformed school girls are way too young for me now and probably the only girls of my age that wear a uniform work at McDonald's _________________

living in Australia I find it strange not to wear a uniform to school, but I guess its all what each of us is use to, I liked it not having to think about
having to choose something different to wear everyday |

I have to wear uniform, and I think it's nice, because it means I can have the same clothes as others around me, espcially since I go to a school where many of the girls have to pay fees, so therefore many of them have veryyyyyy nice home clothes! We have different for summer and winter and we have to wear skirts all the time... but they're better skirts than what the girls in the years below me have to!
However my last school I went to the uniform was given much more leway, i mean, there was a set code but there was always kids in trainers and face piercings (uniform pass cards ).....big chunky ties (okay, i did sport them, but please, I did hate the peanut tie!! ) _________________

I think that children will have enough time to wear uniforms when they'll go to work. Everybody talking about the kids. _________________ Smile ~ |

yeah, and they're proper ones which you have to buy from the school shop and things.. I used to be quite negative of having to wear a skirt, i dunno, i guess what it stands for.. but I think the skirt looks nicer than I can imagine the kind of trousers the school would try and make us wear!! _________________
