Thanks to everyone.
Thanks for all the people who have left comments in response to my original question regarding Jamiroquai's contract with Sony.
Some conflicting imformation but one way or another the contract was settled, probably with Jamiroquai striking a deal with Sony so that an 8th release was not needed.
Thanks again, now let's just hope the next album is not too far off.

No Jamiroquai album for the summer then  .
Just gotta tell you, i got a personal signed photo by Jay today haha from the jmq hq apoligizing about the late rock in rio tickets, well if i was younger i think i would have died, ofcourse i think its cool but come on: "To Daniel, love" i mean what the fuck? The guy dosent even know me haha  .
It sure made my day!
When i first saw that it was something about Jamiroquai i was hoping they needed a new bassplayer... |

I suppose this is the place to look to as and when - I don't think I've had any emails from Jamiroquai.com before. Strange eh, you sign up for these things and some places send you hundreds and some none at all!

sorry to confuse everyone again but when Derrick introduced himself & Sola at Drummer Live yesterday he mentioned his time in the band and that they were working on a new album. He then said it would be released at the end of the year or early next year meaning the new single would be hopefully November  
i will upload a video soon in the Int Music Show thread in bandmembers.
just be patient

wtf??? november first single???? well what pissed me off is not that they are announcing the album is goin to be ready at the end of the year , what bothers me is that they previously announced one date . first they say february , then april , then during the summer and now this???
i would not be surprise if by november they say the album is going to be ready for summer of 2010 ...
andthe wheel keeps spinning ......

 Thanks for the clarification Brother Russky, much appreciated as always . In regards to this development, maaaaannnnnn...there, my predictable frustration has been extinguished for the moment, but hey, can you really blame JK and the boys for taking their sweet time? I mean, "corporate label freedom", especially for Jamiroquai, is new for them and if they want to take their time, even stretched out for a couple of years or more, I say let them. This can only mean that the new material can continue to blosseum and yield even more creative and thought-provoking musical directions. Anyway, as for me, I got too much 'new music' to keep up with than continue to stand unabated at the Buffaloman pire rubbing my palms together and hoping for new JMQ 'Now Now Now'! Cheers again Russky!

recording and mixing songs takes AGES!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was lucky to get some info about all this stuff as soul continuum started mixing a single of them..one song..to mix drums and bass propably it tages hours and hours..it´s crazy i tell u..and jamiroquai? they re-record the WHOLE Album to just make it sound AWESOME!
how could u blame them for professional work?

I dont blame them about it , in fact i expect a fantastic album , but i think ,as fans , we deserve respect . i think the one who announced that the album was going to be ready around summer was jk right??? if he knew that this was going to take more time , he should not have said anything about when the album was going to be ready in order to avoid some reactions. it would have benn better if he had only said .¨we are still recording¨
well that is my opinion . i have nothing agaisnt the band but that kind of contradictions annoys me
