No reason for anyone to be pissed off...
It's just the most contradictory thing to be waiting for such a beautiful creation like music, being mad.
Enjoy all previous Cd's, DVD's and bootlegs... be excited about it |

Exactly what I've been doing for the past few months, and even buying a few old (but new to me) releases. _________________ Music, music and more funkin' music |

How can be possible that they released Space Cowboy just ONE year later than Emergency and it takes almost FIVE years in release the new album? . |

I don´t think five years is much time. It´s normal in every bands, late reelases when they get old. _________________

You have to consider a few things here....
1. You have to differentiate between official announcements and comments made by bandmembers or bandleader in interviews or personal conversations.
We Jamirotalk readers know a lot of details and comments by the boys because this is the place where we collect every bit of information we can get. Almost all of those predictions concerning the release date or tourstart where presumtions, a guess or wishful thinking. Which of those statements were real official statements - meant to be heard by the whole world?
Which of them were just comments in an interview - and what was really said and what was made up by the journalists?
In the end we can only rely on official statements on jamiroquai.com.
I cannot remember that the official website has announced any month or date for the release in the past.
The only thing we heard was the newsletter some weeks ago which said:
| jamiroquai.com newsletter wrote: |
| And if neither of those cheer you up, how about the news that Jamiroquai are now back in the studio, recording a new album! Jay is really pleased with the way the album is shaping up and we should hopefully hear the first tracks soon. |
2. Five years working on the new album?
I don't think so. They haven't been working since 5 years now on the album. They started working not so very long ago... before that they were busy with touring, promotional events, they released High Times in 2006, for which they recorded two new songs, some bandmembers had other musicial projects, and Jay did a little break. So when did they start working on the album then? I don't really know but maybe 2007/2008? With interruptions inbetween...
In the end, for me personally it is good that it takes some time, because I couldn't enjoy any gigs in front row in the next time anyways, with my pregnant belly. But I know that this is a bit of selfish thinking. Of course I'd love to hear the new stuff as soon as possible, like you all.
You can only be disappointed if your expectiations are too high.
I decided to have no expectations at all. I am awaiting patiently what comes next, whenever it might be, and focus more on my private live which has priority anyways. And I have trust in Jay and the boys, that they are doing their best and put their passion and effort into the new album.
Good vibes for you all,
Mouse

I just ask;
is there a rule for that??
If there was one, well... Jamiroquai doesn't follow it obviously (look at the time between albums) Every album has just a life of its own and will demand its natural time to do it...
There's a million facts that can be in between producing an album and get it completly done. Just to name one; taking every thing easy (which I think is what JK must be feeling at this time) after all the issue with Sony It's really come to the time when He has to prove himself in one way or another. So, I guess talking about a date at this point is useless. We can only assume...
Producing, recording, mixing, mastering... People, that's a lot of work, hard work! It's a pain in the ass to get a sound, tones and colors you feel happy about it. It really is.
No matter how many times They say it's probably gonna come out- at this point- It's gonna take more time, always. That's for sure.
The time needed to get the album done, will be the right time. No more no less |
