With Michael gone, I kinda feel some sort of emptiness right now. It's that, with him, a quite large portion of my childhood is sorta gone too. I guess it'll be back after I deal with this, but really, it's as if I lost a neighbour or a more-or-less distant relative, because his music is tied to the memories of some of the best times I've had, and I can't thank him enough for that. I spent a lot of time listening to his music, those carefully crafted, unique pop songs that were and are more than just mere songs - they transmit moods and atmospheres, and evoke emotions. Now I feel like the world has lost almost every but a few musical genii that were active several decades ago, producing music unparallelled in quality since. And with Jackson, another icon of modern music is gone, a man most certainly in class with people such as John Lennon, Miles Davis, Marley, Hendrix and all the other people who produced gems of music for us. I'm still all 'no compute' to this news even though I've acknowledged it - because he died young, and because without him here, his music will not sound the same to me anymore, maybe at least for a while.

I'm a huge fan and now I feel like empty. I was not expecting and I spend the day listening to his old tunes and repeating to my self that MJ is dead. I still can't believe and for everything he made me feel with his songs I just want to say: Thank you Michael Jackson, king of Pop. You are truly an inspiration and I will always listen to you.

Rest in Peace

Caroli..

Jay has released a statement. From the official site:

Michael Jackson
Posted on 26.06.2009

Jay Kay has released a short statement following the untimely death of Michael Jackson.

"A tragic loss, he was only ten years older than me. I was hugely influenced by "Off The Wall" particularly. He will always be remembered for that level of brilliance which will doubtless never be replicated again. It's very sad news." Jay Kay

-------------------------------------------

I thought I was okay until I heard "Human Nature" today. Damn. Just damn. Rest In Peace and God Bless his 3 kids. I think what Jonas wrote in the last line is perfect about his suffering ending.

http://www.okayplayer.com/news/Audio-J-Periods-Man-Or-The-Music-Tribute-To-Michael-Jackson.html

Looks like DJs and music makers around the globe were having trouble sleeping last night, in light of the great loss they were feeling. Luckily innovation and creativity were brewing in those wee hours of darkness, at least for J Period, who gives us his "Man Or The Music," A Tribute To Michael Jackson. Another amazing mix to help you get through today. I'm wearing my sequined glove as I listen. Follow me after the click for the download link and tracklisting.

Download J Period's "Man Or The Music," A Tribute To Michael Jackson.

RIP
....I was really shocked when I got the message that he is death...
I first heard tonight that his condition is critical... And early in the morning I heard he is death.....
Ok... I´m not the biggest fan of Michael Jackson, but mostly in the last time my friends were singing MJ lyrics like "Beat it" (Caused of Guitar Hero Very Happy )

Anyway....
Rest In Peace Michael Jackson... We´ll never forget you

Jay Kay is right: hardly will anyone else ever come close to MJ's level of brilliance. It's almost like he was from another planet and couldn't cope with living in this dehumanizing society. So many people tried so hard to make his life a nightmare, and all he did was bring light and love in our lives with his music. R.I.P.

Isn't it sad that those who pass on don't realise just how much they're loved until they're gone?

Like most here my formative years were spent hearing MJ's music - I can still remember staying up late to watch the first airing of "Thriller" on terrestrial tv with eyes glued to the tv set.

I think Jonas's post sums up everything; the legend lives on in the music and not the events of the life.

"Billie Jean" and "Man in the Mirror" will always be the best of Michael Jackson's music for me.

As many of you else ive dance so much to Micheal Jackson when i was a young teenager, i know his music will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life.
It was kind of strange beacuse i and my friend where playing some MJ songs acoustic when a friend of us told us the news, it was a shock.

I remember one day, I was 11 y.o. and that day I was attracted for the first time but an album on a music shop, that was MJ's BAD I was like mesmerized by the front cover.
One year later I was lucky enought to see him live ( from quite far away) while I was screaming "Micheal I loving you" 'cause I didn't know english yet and part of it cames from his lyrics.
I'm sorry I'm not so sad for him, I don't really know how happy he was anyway whit such a suffering body surrounded by people that could mainly see only his "famous and rich" side ( thoose that Jay calls suckers...but I tried to be polite), plus his 50 years where lived with a great intensity and I think this is something that clean all regrets.
I'm sorry for his music which will surely live even after him but in a different way, sorry 'cause the media didn't care of him since ages ( I saw more video and heard more songs since last night that in the last 3 or 4 years) and now they all built up cases and ride the wave and I'm sorry that when my child will be 11 y.o. she/he won't have MJ to astonish her/him and probably will end up listening to some crap music as you normally do at that age, if I'm lucky.
If I'm a Jamiroquai's fan much is due to MJ, so thanks.
