at 3:09 i can see on the screen a broadcast ! (hmmmm )
___
just found that funny review:
| Quote: |
morning of Friday July 23. You know that Jamiroquai concert tonight, well it does not start until midnight!
Well this did in fact explain something. As you know Switzerland maintains an unofficial curfew at about 22:00 nightly. By this I mean it is generally accepted that you won't be making any noise past 10 PM and that most probably it is bedtime So I thought: that is how come there were tickets left!
On a more practical level we had planned to cycle the almost 50Km to Nyon from our Lausanne home, but now all the plans were a bit schewed since we had an important meeting early Saturday morning in Geneva.
What to do? Well eventually we decided to drive, then as usual Marcus had a change of heart. I mean, we've both done our daily runs, a full days work, surely a 50Km cycle and pop concert would be okay!
So we bravely set off.
A little over 2 hours later we arrived. I think credit must go to my Cateye EL610 light. Much of the route was not lit and we needed to average greater than 20Km/h to arrive for midnight, so being able to see the road was quite important.
So many people were coming out of the concert (probably shocked Swiss who had realised what the time was) that I thought we might have got the concert time wrong. But no ! With perfect timing we got a really great view.
Besides great music, Jay Kay (Jason Kay) has a lot to recommend him. First he's now 40 but really doesn't look a day older than a decade ago and he can actually still move and dance on stage. Next, he is a fellow short person, and also a fanatic car buff.
We had the opportunity to experience some of the classics such as Cosmic Girl, Virtual Insanity and Deeper Underground and an unreleased track Rock Dust Light Star from the forthcoming November 2010 album.
At about 02.00 we though we'd call it a night and headed off for home. Would we be able to get up in time for early morning Geneva? Stay tuned. |

On this video, you can see audience shot from Revolution, Virtual Insanity, Little L, & Alright.
Here's an audience shot of Little L & Alright.
And last but not least the classic "Deeper Underground" to finish the gig...
I've also heard that they played "High Times", "If I Like It, I Do It" & "Space Cowboy"... _________________ Max. |
