Ok, I think it’s time for me to write a little review too. I didn’t manage to load up my pics on facebook yet ….

Nicki and I arrived at the festival entrance at about 9.30 h (we started our day at 3:00 a.m.) and there were already some hardcore fans sitting there – chilling in the sun. It was great to see Anna, Rachel, Claire and Fra for the first time and we had much fun sitting there and enjoying the great weather. Nice to meet “Queen of funk”! More and more people arrived – Gianluca with friends so the Italian group was growing but Nicki and I were desperately waiting for Russ who had our tickets (sure we were also looking forward to see him again!!!) Lola and her family arrived – great to have such a son Lola!!! It was great to see how much he cared – and he could run fast!! Wink
Finally Russ and Jan arrived and we spent a great time together. It was nice to see that more and more older couples with parasols and picnic blankets arrived, with a great smile on their faces – looking forward to see Stevie Wonder.

At about 1.00 the gates opened and some had problems with the scanning of the tickets – and so lost a lot of time in the race. The security checked my bag for hours and so I had to run very fast – I overtook a lot of people and made it in the middle of front row. outtahere Gianluca and Lola’s son (sorry, I forgot his name) were already there and Nicki came a short time after me so that we could stand together.

Micki Free started at about 1:45 h so time passed very quickly. It was great to see Bill Wyman as special guest! Mary Mary was not my cup of tea, but Corinne Bailey Rae was great! What a beauty!! So elfe-like – just stunning! James Morrison – I love his voice!! And a cutie for sure!! He really rocked! When Jamiroquai came on stage the crowd went crazy - you could really feel them pushing! And when Jay said that we would all come on their album cover everyone was screaming and waving when they took the photo. Unfortunately one photographer was standing on his ladder right in front of me…Although they played no new song the gig was great – some arrangements were different and they were in a good mood. They really appreciated that the audience was singing every song very loud.
And then Stevie came and he did a great job!! I didn’t know that he could be so funny. He has a good sense of humor. Although I didn’t get everything he said it was a great experience to see him live. And you could feel that he is a real legend – everybody in Hyde Park loves him at this special moment. Unbelievable!!!

One very good thing was that the security guys supported us with water the whole day – they were all very kind. One of them even gave me the setlist of Stevie Wonder after the concert. I didn’t even asked for it!! Very nice!!!

After the concert we all met again – unfortunately were told to go out of this place very soon because they wanted to clean up for the next day – we didn’t even get a beer although I was starving!! So we got together outside and had a little talk. It was sooo nice to see you all again!!!

Later on Nicki and I went to Victoria Station and waited for the first bus to bring us to Stanstedt at 3.00 a.m. We met another German lady who was at least my age and she told us that she has been to 2 Bon Jovi concerts in the last 2 days and now on her way home. Unbelievable what some crazy ladies do for their stars…. Wink Rolling Eyes

We were very tired after that trip but it was all worth it and I don’t wanna miss a thing!! Great weekend with lovely Nicki – we had a good time!!!

Big hug to everybody I met - it is always very special when the Jamily meets invasion biglove

I guess it is a natural progression of the voice to not be able to sing as high.

Well, Stevie Wonder doesn't seem to have this problem...

Quite right! Maybe all that smoking has taken its toll then over the years.
