New Jamiroquai Sept. Release/Compilation, From Sony/BMG?!?
buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Shocked Confused Looks like we are ready for yet another 'unexpected' Jamiroquai release, no not the new album but what indications show COULD be a compilation from Sony/BMG weirdly entitled 'This Is', with varying street dates of August 30th to September 7th 2010, that listings for have started to pop up at nearly all the online music boutiques Confused Shocked . Wink The listings were first noticed by Brother Dyego, so I thought I would post a new thread about this and keep up an updated list of the listings for it that are currently known Wink . Here is the list, update:

Very Happy I ironic thing is that I DID a fanmade 2CD compilation of Jamiroquai B-Sides/Rarities entitled "Just Another Story: Jamiroquai Rarities" ( Rolling Eyes for those wondering, sorry, no sharing of copyrighted material Rolling Eyes ) Very Happy . Anyway, if this is legit, here's what Sony/BMG has they could compile, at least to my vast knowledge, for a B-Sides compilation:

- Shoot The Moon (Either Studio version OR Montreux Jazz 2003 recording)
- Midnight Funk (Unreleased)
- Space Clav
- Bullet
- Slippin' N' Slidin'
- Gettin' Funky
- Wolf In Sheep's Clothing
- Cannabliss (Studio OR Live recording)
- A Funk Odyssey (Studio OR Live recording)
- Stillness In Time (Vinyl Extended Version)
- When You Gonna Learn? (EITHER Original Demo OR Cante Hondo Remixes OR JK Mix)
- Too Young To Die (UK LP Extended Version)
- If I Like It, I Do It (UK LP Extended Version)
- Emergency On Planet Earth (London Rican Mix)
- Snooze You Lose (Online Odyssey track)
- So Good To Be So Real (Bonus Track On AFO)
- Feels So Good (TP Extended Version)
- You Give Me Something (TP Extended Version)
- Twenty Zero One (TP Extended Version)
- Stop Don't Panic (TP Extended Version)
- Funktion (TWOM Bonus Track)
- Space Cowboy (Demo)
- Revolution 1993 (Demo)
- Everybody's Going To The Moon (Titan A.E. Track)
- The Kids (Japanese Edit)

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Two things...

1. This is probably why the release date of the new album was pushed back. Releasing two new jamiroquai albums at once would confuse consumers.

2. The title 'this is' was most likely chosen to capitalize on Michael Jackson's recent album, 'this is it', I'm guessing...

I hope some never before released material is put on the album (or at least exclusive vinyl mixes).

I think ti will be more like a teaser/single than a fully featured compilation itself... Weirdly released under Sony label but who knows...

if you type the EAN Code "0886977645129" on google you can find the album on a lot of music websites.

As mentioned by Dyego with Sony label and same tracklist as High Times Singles:

http://www.imusic.dk/cd/0886977645129/jamiroquai-2010-this-is-cd

http://www.deutschrock.de/p6-i0886977645129/jamiroquai/this-is/index.html

http://www.cdgo.com/artigoDetalhe.php?idArtigo=5168577

and you can find a lot with that tracklist!!! Shocked

Maybe this "This is" Album is a replacement for High Times !?
I think Sony will release it because of the new upcoming album.

I agree with my friend above.I reckon it's just another Greatest Hits but packaged essentially in another box...that's all (Would be superb if it WAS a CD of B-sides though!) Smile

Around 10 € for the album... it's just to go above the crisis, and sell a little more.

They know the album will be released on the end of the year, so they want to join those sellings and earn a little more money. And besides... we're half away from Christmas, people will search for cheap cd's and specially greatest hits!

Can't blame Sony... Razz

This Is ..... old music
According to (many) web shops the tracklist is about the old work. High Times 2.0 so to say. For example:
http://www.deutschrock.de/p6-i0886977645129/jamiroquai/this-is/index.html
http://www.velvetmusic.nl/shopping/product_details.php?id=9116826&lang=nl
http://www.drs3.ch/www/radiokiosk/product/0886977645129

I guess thas Sony expects the new single release from the band about that time and they want to get a peace of the action (aka money).
So let's skip that and wait till the new album, i can't wait.
