Hi all!
I think it is common decency to first introduce oneself before spamming the boards so here it goes...
Online I'm known as Winterkat (Kat for short). I'm a 29 year old (couple more days and the dreaded 3 will be there...) Belgian, currently residing in Brussels which to me is the only good place in Belgium!
During the day I work as a legal assistant in the finance department of a big construction company (we built the tallest tower in the world!) which I enjoy very much. Never are two days the same, it's an international environment and I get to learn a lot of different things!
In the evening I am a law student at university. After I finish the upcoming exams (I start tomorrow!!!!), I will be in my final year of studies... Finally! I am specialising in International and European Law and am doing research on the human rights responsibilities of transnational corporations.
Apart from the two above full time occupations not much time is left but I love going to concerts, reading books, hanging with friends, sleeping and Shopping! I am also very passionate about animals and animal rights. I am celebrating my 18th year of vegetarianism this month! I love eating but I hate cooking. Also absolutely hate washing cars (that's probably why I still don't have my driver's license!). My biggest passion in life is traveling and will abuse any free moment for it!
I can't play any instruments (used to make our pet bird cringe when practising the flute) but absolutely adooooore music. Have always loved Jamiroquai but for some reason it never connected in my head. That is until my ex-boyfriend (jazz musician) introduced me to jazz and shared his collection with me. I would put the music on shuffle and after a while I noticed that whenever a JMQ song would come on I would be smiling and singing and dancing. So I turned shuffle off for a while and had my first JMQ phase (end of 2009 - beginning of 2010). When I saw they were coming to Belgium I had to have tickets!
At the Suikerrock festival I was blown away by the amazing quality they give while performing live. I have been to quite some concerts and festivals but the energy I felt there was amazing. I went home completely Jamiroquaid and have been since. Only downside was that my friend seemed to be in a nagging mood and prevented me from going all the way to the front of the stage. Through a chain of crazy events we even ended up backstage but she refused to stay there...
I have a great love for vinyl and ever since being a teenager I have wanted to have a wall covered in vinyls. I didn't want them to be just random ones but I could never find any band interesting enough to start collecting their stuff. Yesterday I bought my first JMQ vinyls (6 in total ) and I can't wait for them to arrive. As I just started I can't say yet that I am very serious about it but knowing myself there is a big chance I will get completely passionate about it and become a bulldog, not letting go until I have it all! To motivate myself to study for my exams I reward myself for every hour of study with one currency (€, $ or ₤) to use to buy vinyls! And I gave my friends a complete wish list of JMQ vinyls so they don't get me anything I don't want for my birthday
I think the above sums me up quite well. I f anyone wants to know more about one thing or another, feel free to ask! I don't know how active I will be on these boards (they did help me loads with learning about the JMQ vinyls) as I don't have much spare time on my hands but it seems like a nice place and I will definitely be around for a while.
To end I would like to share my favourite pic of the Suikerrock gig I made:
Was reluctant to bring my big camera as the tickets said they weren't allowed but sneaked in my small one instead!
*Meow*
