Yeah, then maybe the Monarchy remix. Seamus Haji's blows.. did he spend all of 3 hours making it? You'd think that when you're given the opportunity to remix a big name artist you'd do your best work and make a name for yourself. I'm not sure it's up to Jamiroquai to pick the remixers, but Knee Deep, Simon Grey, Sa-Ra would've all been better choices than these clowns. |

Finnish Radio Ylex played WKR on Monday that being the same edit that is available eg. Youtube. Today the same broadcast played the song and that version has slight changes during the song and at the end 3x 'eeeaasyyy to controoool'. Length appr. the same 3:36. _________________ kite carrier (geuze)

The version on the Promo IS DIFFERENT than the version I bought at several different points, but the biggest change is the last :40. On the version included with the promo, it is the same as the version on Youtube "White Knuckle Walk On".
Now I feel kinda strange about paying for a track that wasn't necessarily final since the band clearly didn't authorize the release of that copy either.

I am sorry, but it is out now all over the net.. |
I'm also sorry that it's all over on the net cause these remixes S*CK big time... |
|
Pretty much correctly speculated a CDM (Promo) would be sent out to the media this week, as for the remixes, indeed, there a few flawed ones, but Seamus Haji did the best job of remixing in this lot, though I really dig Monarchy's new stuff (Also recently signed to Mercury Records!) . In regards to that 'supposed' 5 minute radio edit of WKR, it's much like the FAKE 'full radio edit' that Braquet uploaded on Youtube that was just the original radio edit with 3 minutes of dead air at the end. :?Unless I'm missing something, I thought radio rips were ok since they are pretty much played in the 'public domain', I remember back in 2006 when all those 'XFM Schooly D' recordings of new Dynamite airings were shared freely amongest OR am I wrong ? In any case, remixes are nice, for the first Jamiroquai B-Side in a LONG LONG Time for the upcoming 'Blue Skies' Single. Cheers!
Sincerely,

White Knuckle Ride (Penguin Prison Instrumental Mix) is Miami Bass-like. VERY WEIRD, but the bass lines are awesome. For an electronic track. Weird to listen it as Jamiroquai material. _________________ "Sit, back, kick that switch and hyper zoom!" |

Yeah, sharing of the official material is strictly prohibited and has just been re-emphasized by Meike. |
Well, I will not get into this discussion, especially not whether it is fair to the band. I for one would switch roles with any of the guys in a split second. And while we are at it, if we all even question if the link with the paypal option is official, however go for it and pay, where does the question if its fair to the band come into place here ? Someone is making money, I doubt its the band. |

I've waited some time to post my feelings on WKR. When new stuff is out it's easy to misunderstand it.
This release reminds me of FJLIS, I can't even try to state the genre/style of this track as FJLIS, pop music is maybe the best way to describe it but it's not a matter of tags, who cares about tags?
What I like:
- It gets really punchy at the beginning of the chorus
Very catchy
- Again on the chorus when (Jay's voice gets clearer) on "It's not so easy to control" it's really cool
What I don't like:
- The "pressure" backing vocals
- The spooky riff at the beginning of the track that comes again on "Couldn't change it if I wanted to taste it all the time", this tastes really deep house IMHO
What I can't understand:
- How does this relate to the last gigs's Jamiroquai?
- The band was talking about the live recording / freshness of the new stuff, WKR is a bit overproduced in my option, I wouldn't define this fresh or live recorded.
- This is a remix, where's the original track?
What I'd like to hear now...:
- WKR without all the overproduction
- A live version of it (maybe with different synths...something like the alternate version of Love Blind back in 2005)
My WKR's score? ND I'll decide when the album is out, if the rest of the stuff is different I will enjoy this track as part of a whole bigger picture.
At the moment I simply like it and keep playing it
...meanwhile...
I'm having fun , which are the most important news , so thanks to the band for this new track _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

I agree. I have never been massive on remixes to be honest! _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

totally agree Rinaldo, it's good as a feel good track & would be happy to hear it in a club as it's very uplifting
maybe it's designed to just hit the clubs for the end of the Summer season in places like Ibiza
i am also really liking the Penguin Prism remix even more now with the vocals changed & the more Chic/Shapeshifters like feel to it very progressive
bit like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eBOT36HaSA
i do think the album will be a totally different ball game, i'm confident of that now & as Rinaldo said - FJLIS didn't really sit well on Dynamite but i hope it's it not Dynamite _________________

You are right in all the points...but why you say this is a remix and not the original? we can listen also to the radio version |
