Dude... you have like 11 more songs to listen to in November.
(Don't) Give Prejudice a Chance. |
NOOOOOOOOO, that's awful..11 more disappointments!!! he he just kidding
you're correct Diego..if this album has one or two amazing instrumentals/songs or crazy experimental stuff hidden that cannot be released as singles (because only fans would love them and most people wouldn't buy the album, and this is a business in the end) then I'm sure we'd be pleased.
And yes, live they have sounded amazing lately...I'm regaining optimism[/quote] |

People lose sight of the fact that it is no longer 1994/1996. The sound that is demanded to make a splash on the airwaves today is appreciably different from what would have gotten radio play in the early 1990s.
Also, a band's sound evolves. Look at the Beatles, Stones, etc. With Jamiroquai, this is evolution is more radical since we only get an LP twice a decade [at this miserable pace]. If they put out a rehash of The Return of the Space Cowboy instead of Traveling Without Moving, who knows if it would have even and led to the band's continued success - and I'm sure many people would bellyache that it was a derivative work with no new artistic quality. Just be thankful for the fact that you have a recording of music that you truly care for, and please stop harping on the fact that you personally don't care for this new sound. It is but one track on an entire album. |

Didn't grab me at first, but it's growing on me. Anyway, it's just one song... I was always disappointed with Feels Just Like It Should, but that doesn't at all represent the rest of Dynamite. The tracklist for RDLS is promising.
Something about the chorus reminds of the chorus from "Funk Odyssey":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6lOwGL9IQs
I'd still like to hear a studio version of that one, even though the beginning is the same as "Use The Force." And as long as they're doing that, they might as well throw in "Shoot the Moon" and "Cannabliss."
Personally, I'm less enthusiastic about the song "Rock Dust Light Star," but I'll wait to hear a studio version of that one before passing judgment.
It's sort of surreal hearing a new Jamiroquai song, don't you think? It's always a unique experience. I'm not quite as excited as I was when I first heard "Seven Days in Sunny June," but I haven't given up hope for this album yet. There has to be a few gems, at least. |

I finally heard the whole track .. Man, huge disapointment. It wasn´t a remix. Even worse, aparently this will be a single, Jay already shot the video. I was thinking Jami would return to the main scene in big time, and this track the best they can do??
I really don´t get such an excitment with such a poor track, if something like Virtual Insanity would be released then fans would die with a heart attack or something. This just follows the trend of Dynamite poor tracks, with the difference of being even more poorer musically.
To be honest my expectations were very low at the beginning, but watching recent gigs including "Too young to die", "revolution", "hooked up", and band members talking about "jazz", "soul", "return of the roots", "live", "horns", made me re-gain a small portion of hope. I wish that never happened. After all we got cheap pop rock and electronica in such a vulgar way like they never did before. Seems RDLS will be an even poorer Dynamite. I thought that wasn´t possible, but seems it is.
Sucks for fans like me ...
But I am happy for most people, seems you are pleased with this sounds.
Good for you .. |
Your honesty is refreshing and hilarious.

I find it mysterious that radios are broadcasting two slightly different versions of WKR. Example: on about 2:57 (going to the last chorus) one version is with Jay singing "wououou" and the other version without. The version with the "wououou" also has those "eeaasyyy too control" x3 and the other version doesn't (the one played on Chris Moyles). This one with less of Jay's voice is apparently played more often. They both are spreading on net, though.

There's also the second verse 'there it is... there it is' or something like that, is re-introduced later in the song.
Which one I prefer? The one where you can hear more music and less vocals. |

People just rellax, I thought this was a free opinion forum. SO that´s it - I gave my opinion ... Why are you all picking on me? Am I supposed to say "great stuff" for everything Jamiroquai releases just because this is Jamiroquai? I am an honest person and that´s something I will take to the grave.
But don´t get me wrong, I am a total Jamironuts! I am following the band since the first moment. I have been to a lot of gigs and bought all the albums ... but does that mean I wave my head at everything the band releases? I´m sorry, but NOO.
I can understand you get a bit mad with someone disliking the new stuff and being a bit picky and hard in the analysis, but you should learn that people are entitled to have their opinon too .. If I was here repeating FANTASTIC all the time there would be no fuss about my posts.
Anyway I understand I am on a Jamiroquai forum and I am being a bit pollitically incorrect .. So I am sorry!
Cheers to all |
