I will be getting both the UK and US releases, so it does not matter to me. Personally, I kind of like that Jamiroquai has become somewhat obscure in the US. Being a hard core fan, it would suck to give up my front-row concert spot to some Justin Bieber/ Jonas Brother screaming pre-teen Rolling Eyes

As for concert dates, I can't wait until the guys get their butts back to the US. I personally would like for them to come in the spring, but that's a long shot. Will just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I too like the exclusivity of Jamiroquai post-SYNK and TWM eras stateside. It makes me feel special that I’m apart of a passionate minority that still receives concert dates in the major cities. I’m grateful that I don’t have to rely on imports to enjoy their album releases.

Hola! This is my first time posting, although I am a long-time 'lurker' - and I figure that this thread is as good a place as ever to introduce myself.

My name is Denise and I am a serious US fan from NY. Jamiroquai has been my favorite group in the universe since the first time I ever heard them. It was the David Morales remix of "Space Cowboy", which instantly became my clubbing anthem and the song that defined my life in many ways from that point on. (Little did I know at the time that it was, in fact, a remix. I thought that WAS the song. That is another story for a different thread. One that I'm sure I will share at some point!)

As US fans, we are in the minority, because we are deprived of Jamiroquai! I've always had to go out of my way seek their music out... if I even knew about new releases at all! (Particularly in the pre-internet/blog/MySpace/FB days.) I have a few other stories on that topic.

Although, as some say, it's kinda cool that they are somewhat "underground" here, and thus it gives them - and us - a bit of an 'edge, ' I honestly believe that the general public would've benefitted greatly from their music and enjoyed it as much as I do. Instead, I get weird looks from people when I tell them that my favorite band is Jamiroquai. It's just wrong! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I still hold out hope that the tides will turn here. With that said, the sooner RDLS reaches us, the better. I don't know why they would delay the US release, unless it's for market research purposes or something along those lines. In any case, I will snatch it up on iTunes as soon as it is available.

And I hope that they tour the US very soon!! From my geographical perspective, anywhere in NY would be great, or even Atlantic City or Connecticut. (There is a nice casino there called Mohecan Sun with a concert hall, and I always think about Jamiroquai whenever I go there. I know it's not the same tribe, but it's got a Native American flavor nonetheless. Smile ) Or Foxwoods/MGM Grand.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and have a lot to look forward to this Fall! Peace to all.

Welcome Denise Very Happy

I agree on that "it's kinda cool that they are somewhat "underground" here". Sometimes it happens to me, and makes you feel unique, in a way.
I don't want everyone listening my band Laughing Get my point?
After that, is like no longer special. So, I guess the 'knowing' status is ok, by me. Although, and kinda ironic, I do want them to be succesful at what they do.

On damn, I wrote too much. Welcome once again!

Thanks, D. Smile I'm just sayin'... You know how you feel when you listen to "Cosmic Girl" or "Canned Heat" or "Manifest Destiny" or you-name-it? The joy and awe and euphoria or range of other emotions that you probably feel? Wouldn't it be nice for others to know that feeling too? And to hear the MESSAGE that Jay tries to convey, even underneath all the disco glitter? I for one would love to hear their music blaring out of radios and such, the way I envision it to be in other countries.

Instead, I turn my own little "Corner of the Earth" into my own Jamiroquai-infused hangout. (Along with a few choice other musical acts.) That means my house, car, computer, iPod... Very Happy It does the trick for me at least! Very Happy

I agree with what you are saying, but who knows if it would have the same effect on people. I think that it takes a certain kind of person to be a true Jamiroquai fan like we all are. I am glad to see the Jami-Fam in the States. I guess we in the UK are spoiled.

Have to agree with Dyego and Denise. As much as its disappointing that Jamiroquai doesn't get as much airplay here in Canada, its unique to be listening to Jamiroquai. Hell, HMV didn't even have RDLS on order for stock, they special ordered it for me. Yep... That's how I'm getting the Single Collection for about $30... not bad (mind you its used and I haven't seen it yet, but I assume its in good shape).

When Jamiroquai comes to Canada (notice I'm not using "If") I'm hoping to meet some fellow Canadian fans. Very Happy

Its hard being only eighteen (although I'm nineteen next February), Canadian and to be listening to Jamiroquai. Razz

Crying or Very sad Being as big of a fan that I am, it really just PISSES me off that the release is delayed here, since everyone knows how "downloadable" it is, so that is a stupid move to delay it.

I mean really, for this day and age, it should be the same everywhere, I don't get it.

I agree. And the record industry wonders why they are losing money. They might just "get in" in 10 years or so - after they've bankrupted themselves with their poor decisions.

No release in the U.S.
I try to get by.
I have the CD.
Play it on my CD player.
But Wanna hear it on the radio.
And I lost my I-pod. Crying or Very sad

I have to make due by listening to other artists who are on the radio.

Laughing Laughing Something like that.

I honestly think it is a deliberate avoidance. Wink

Yeah, being a 23 year old in Los Angeles, CA who is a Jamiroquai lover is very rare. I've gotten some friends pretty turned on to it, though. For friends of friends who are just more into Top40s stuff or into lots of TRANCE, Jamiroquai's music seems to just go in one ear and come right out the other as if it just doesn't register to them. I can't understand how incapable a lot of people are with critical thinking and simply having a mind of their own.

Apparently Jamiroquai lost their US post-TWM steam because their next album took too long to come out. Therefore, I wonder if Jay didn't scrap Symphonized and released it in 98, would that have a had large impact on the music industry on a US and even global scale?

If Jay didn't kick Stu out, would we not be contaminated with Drakes and Rihannas? Would the US have more open and sophisticated taste on the mainstream level? Either way I guess it's very sad to see how much influence MTV has and people cannot seek out or judge music they truly like instead of being a drone robot.
