The Names
Well, I thought I'd post something here since as much as this is the 'Musicians' forum in jamirotalk, it's also the 'musicians in jamirotalk' forum...
Last year my brother (which is younger than me BTW) had an Idea to start a small, 4 member band, to play in concerts in the school and things like that... It didn't quite work.. Two of the members (bassist and drummer) were pretty much crap, and didn't really care for the music...
So the project was dropped, although he continued to write some lyrics in his free time..
Then, one day, he came up to me from the blue and asked me if I wanted to join him in his new band, which was made up of himself, the other guy who took it seriously, a new bassist who could play OK, and if I wanted, myself as drummer...
I took the drummer space, since i wasn't putting my composing and drumming 'talent' to full use alone anyway... From that was born
The Names
We made one 'recording' in a small, cheap (but excellent) studio in town, and I must say, it turned out quite good...
All of our songs are composed by us, and Our influences were mostly classic rock bands from the late 60's to 70's, especially the beatles (the guitarrist, pedro, is a fanatic), the velvet underground, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and The Who... among others...
I have put up two of our songs for download on the web, and i hope u guys take a look, and see what you think...
here are the direct links (.mp3)
(right click and choose 'save target as...')
Rip It A more Rock style song, quite good, but bear in mind, it's amateur work.......
Big Blue Trees A song inspired in "'The Animals'" House of the rising sun..i like this one quite a lot....
I really enjoy playing, and now we are getting more serious, trying to put in some jazz influences, and we changed our bass player to a more experienced guy...
I hope u like it, leave your thoughts..
I'll keep u updated!
bye.. _________________
