Really Weird Jamiroquai Dream
So, last night I had a really strange dream involving Jamiroquai.

I was outside, in fairly sunny weather, near the park, and I saw someone who I apparently recognized.

I said, "Hey, is your name Simon Hale?", and he replied, "Yeah, I helped produce the album A Funk Odyssey."

And so I asked him, "Woah, what happened? The sound of Jamiroquai was so different before that album!" And he told me point blank, "Listen, if you want to make it in the music industry, then you need to sell out, wear nice clothes & hats, and start making pop tunes.

He began walking away, and I ran up to him and asked what he thought of TROTSC. He turned around and kind of shrugged my question off, "It wasn't a very good album." I looked at him in amazement, "Really? I kind of felt like that at first, but the album really grew on me, and now it's my favorite Jamiroquai album." He started walking off again, and I yelled at him, "You know what, Jamiroquai was really good before it decided to sell out." He snapped around and got really irritated and defensive and asked me rudely, "Do I know you?"

Then I woke up.

I put the name Simon Hale in my phone, while I was at work, so I wouldn't forget. Everything about that dream was oddly specific.

That is very weird. I am fascinated by dreams. I actually had a strange dream the other night, also related to the notion of "selling out". I hope I'm not too much of a newbie to share my bizarre nocturnal subconscious meanderings, but here we go...

I was in some kind of music store -- they sold CDs, books, and lots and lots of music magazines. A woman came in and asked the store owner about the new Jamiroquai. It was not out yet, he said, but he had something in the back of the store, an import from Japan, I believe.

The store owner then went into a room in the back and emerged with some kind of pink, fluffy package, which included pink toilet paper (?) and other toiletries. Apparently the new release was packaged as some kind of "bath kit" for kids. Shocked The REALLY funny part was that it played music when you squeezed it... and the music that played was funked-up versions of Jay singing children's songs/nursery rhymes such as Row-Row-Row Your Boat. (It didn't sound half-bad, lol, even though it was very cheesy.) The woman who bought it seemed embarrassed by how loudly it was playing.

The woman paid for the package and left. Then Jay walks in and goes up to the counter. He buys several magazines, including a guitar magazine. As he pays for the stuff, he jokingly says, "the essentials." Then a few other people proceeded to buy similar guitar magazines. And so the dream ended, or at least the part that I remember.

I thought it was funny and was chuckling to myself as I recapped it in my mind. I have the darnest dreams sometimes! roll eyes

Ha, funky nursery rhymes. I bet toddlers would like it, but the toiletries is just weird!! Laughing The funny thing about my dream is that I haven't listened to any of the new Jamiroquai stuff... gonna wait till I have the album cd in my hands. Cool

I reallly hope the new album is solid!

I find dreams interesting and have a few Jamiroquai dreams of my own, so I know how bizarre and real it can seem. In your dream you said that you yelled "You know what, Jamiroquai was really good before it decided to sell out." and then you said the SImon guy was rude. 2upsidedown
