I was thinking the same thing Little H. They are being so f'ing rude to us!!! So many fans have remained so loyal for so long. The least they (Sony or Jamiroquai) could do is give warning that the site was going down. I think that they should even let the fans be the first to know about the CD release and concert tours. I don't know if everyone has heard of the band Pearl Jam, I know all the U.S. people in here have and I'm sure a lot of you outside of the U.S. have too. But their fan club, the Ten Club, costs $10 a year if you want to be in it but they send their fan club members first dibs on tickets for their concerts-before they're even available to the rest of the public! And they also send you a little present right around Christmas which is usually a couple unreleased songs on vinyl or a CD or something like that. I got the vinyl the one year. I don't know what the other gifts have been. But anyways, you can see bands like Pearl Jam really appreciate their fans. They even had some big fiasco with Ticketmaster a couple years back becasue ticketmaster charges an outrageous service fee and Pearl Jam didn't want their fans to have to pay an arm and a leg to go to one of their concerts. Eventually Pearl Jam was forced to go back to selling tickets through Ticketmaster because otherwise, it was too hard for the fans to get tickets. It was always about the FANS with them because if it wasn't for the fans, Pearl Jam would have never been successful. Same goes with any band! Ok, so Jamiroquai is a world famous band and I'm sure they're very busy but, I think they forget that if it's not for us, you know-the ones they keep jerking off, they don't sell albums or concert tickets and then they're done. I hate to come down on Jamiroquai like this and I do love their music so much, but this whole 3 year wait with hardly a word has been a little ridiculous. I'm sorry and I apologize for going off topic on this one. I just wanted to share this with everyone. thanks for reading! _________________ This is our corner of the Earth |

you're absolutely right beena. it's things like this that contribute to Jamiroquai's anonymity in places like the US; but more importantly, they should show a little more respect to the people who've stuck with them when they weren't winning Video Music Awards, Grammys and the like. |

Well, probabilly you havn´t noticed it, but since the fall of the official site, there is a massive migration of people from J-talk to this forum.
I havn´t seen so much new names along the 2 years I´ve been posting here. |

Hi guys!
lol, thats funny to read the whole thing here.
First everybody is happy, happy expecting a nice, new, updated side but the mood becomes more pissed day by day.
Well, not a nice thing of the ppl who are responsible for that side to let us guess what will happen to it.
But that was expectable to be honest. Was the same situation when they took the digi chat away! First we were guessing that they maybe just fix it or make it new and modern. But we all know they didnt. All that without saying a damn word...
thats sad! i dont think we deserve that! |

Hey guys
I only noticed in the last week that the official site was down and now I realise the situation I am, well, quite confused. If the release date is concrete (of November 1st/8th) why is there still no news at all with only 5/6 weeks, suposedly, until the first single?? We don't even know exactly what it's going to be called yet...
Anyway, like everyone else i hope the site is back up sometime this week with info on the new album! and yes i agree, for them not to give any details why the site is down is wrong, but in a way it builds the suspense even more |

Well, I know it's hard to believe ... - but I am 90% sure, that the site is down for one simple reason: the server crashed and nobody in charge noticed it yet or simply does not care. I don't believe in a redesign being the reason for it.
Explanation:
1. In case of a relaunch, the former pages would not be unreachable for such a long time ... - professionally done, switching from one to another system is a matter of few seconds. Even using a less sophisticated strategy would lead to maximum one hour downtime.
2. In case of jamiroquai.com not only the site, but the whole server seems to be down. Try "tracert www.jamiroquai.com" in your MS-commandline. You'll see that the domain is pointing at IP 212.78.69.236, but the rooting stops at 212.78.64.18 before reaching the server.
Thus, it's quite probable that the machine is simply down (fused cable, crashed harddisc?) with nothing else behind it ....
Has anybody called Sony and inquired after the official Jamiroquai website? |

OMG Miran, that is one radical theory!!!!
You're right, usually the page switching would take just few minutes, not 2 weeks.
Well, you know this kind of stuff so I believe you with IPs.
Damn!! |

He, he ... there is still a certain chance, that's it's another reason ...
Only inquiring at the relevant places will reveal what's behind it. And maybe only inquiring will make the relevant persons becoming aware of the situation at all. |

hahaha, cehck what I found on that company's site that hosts jamiroquai.co.uk:

Jamiroquai
Nasstar built, hosts and maintains the Official Jamiroquai website, having been appointed by the pop group in 1999. The site includes streaming sound and videos, an interactive chat forum, news room and picture gallery.

"Nasstar built, host and maintain the Jamiroquai web site. They also provide all our email services and manage the Jamiroquai email list as part of their on-going support. The mailing list is an important communication tool helping Jamiroquai keep their fans up to date with events, and it has grown rapidly in size under Nasstar’s management. The Internet is becoming more important for artists and Nasstar provide guidance on Internet developments which affect the music business, such as the downloading of digital music. Nasstar were appointed in 1999 and I have always found them to be responsive and helpful and have no hesitation in recommending their services."
